I agree, I never rated him at first due to his inconsistencies and total lack of ability in front of goal. He has improved significantly and I now rate him as highly as our other stars now even though he still has the odd brain-fart of which his penalty was one.

If it had cost us I’m sure more emphasis would be put on the fact that we started the game with 4 inexperienced teenagers, two making their first ever starts (if memory serves me right). The club and Pep clearly weren’t interested in winning at all costs, so why would Sterling be?

I do rate him, but he tried to make their keeper look a dick and it backfired. He has no need to try that and, on this occasion we got away with it. You would agree that had we got knocked out because of it, there wouldn't be many supporting his strategy at that pen on here

At least he didn't take 46 tiny steps in his run up before hitting the ball . That is how a complete twat takes penalties.
