We will look small time giving into a club that has a player desperate to leave and is doing all he can to get out.

We have our valuation, if they don't accept it then let them deal with a weekly soap Sterling soap opera of him being in the reserves every week.

After four years since purchasing Aguero, we are finally targeting a player who will actually improve our first 11. He is also just 20 years old, the current European Golden Boy, and homegrown!

The only thing that has been small-time in this affair is our drawn out, fruitless posturing that has failed to knock a single penny off Liverpool's valuation.

If we fail to act this summer, as a continuation of 3 summers of consistent failings in the transfer market, we will be battling for fourth come spring.

Wouldn't surprise me. Their bitterness and self-importance know no bounds. They will firmly believe that the player can be re-educated back into the fold, because they are not Liverpool but, as they pompously insist on referring to themselves, Liverpool Football Club. In the meantime, he's not costing them much in wages and even if Webster is invoked won't Sterling's fee still have to be fixed by a tribunal because of his age? Could mean we still have to stump up a hefty wedge. If there was any other young English player with Sterling's attributes, I'd advocate stringing these fucking cunts (cos that's what they are) along up to deadline day, and then buy someone else, but he ticks every box for us. Tough call IMO
It is tough, but taking everything into account, including the character assassination from within the 'ranks',the vile abuse by their supporters and the players none relationship with Brenda......I still think we can call their bluff.
I'm convinced he will be a City player.

There's only one club bitching and feeding the media and it isn't City.
Will say it one last time.

An official Liverpool briefing took place earlier today.

That briefing entailed no new bid from City, no contact from City for three weeks, and a continued insistence they are far from ready to deal at less than £50m.

Why do you think Sterling has gone to such extreme lengths this week?

Both he and his agent are flapping like mad and hoping to force the hand of Liverpool or City.

This deal will happen, but City will either have to blink first or drag this out as feasibly possible.

Hopefully, both teams being in the same part of the world might at least start a cordial discussion.

It'll get done.
You try to sound confident but your stance has change from Welcome to Manchester to City blink or drag it out.

There's not a chance on earth we're going to let this transfer slip through our fingers. Sterling will be a blue before the first ball of the season is kicked.
All's what's happening is an istoric, once successful club, are digging their heels in an attempt to appease their gobshite fans and not have to admit they're now a selling club incapable of holding onto their best players.

Thanks for your input & insight.......... Patience is a virtue.......... It will be all the sweeter when it finally happens.

"For the sake of £5m"

Why don't we just pay it then?
You tell me? Why have we battled it out for a month with them over the fee when we could of just paid their £50m asking price in the first place.

Clearly City aren't willing to pay it or they would of done by now.

Who else would improve our first team that we can realistically sign?

From the players linked. Pogba, De Bruyne will improve the team (don't know about Fabinhi). I think a change of formation will improve the team. I think a more committed Yaya will improve the team.
