We will look small time giving into a club that has a player desperate to leave and is doing all he can to get out.

Wouldn't surprise me. Their bitterness and self-importance know no bounds. In the meantime, he's not costing them much in wages and even if Webster is invoked won't Sterling's fee still have to be fixed by a tribunal because of his age? This deal will happen, but City will either have to blink first or drag this out as feasibly possible.

Hopefully, both teams being in the same part of the world might at least start a cordial discussion.

Who else would improve our first team that we can realistically sign?

From the players linked. Pogba, De Bruyne will improve the team (don't know about Fabinhi). I think a change of formation will improve the team. I think a more committed Yaya will improve the team.
