You can also compare him to our 20 year olds playing in our EDS. If Sterling was playing for the u21s people would be demanding pellegrini put him in the squad.
It is the price we will have to pay which people are annoyed about, not his ability.

If he was in our academy, he would have been considered too lightweight to risk & spent the last two years on the bench at Grimbsby Town.

He's carried Liverpool to 5th place this season at age 19/20. We saw how good he was with Suarez/Sturridge, he'll be even better with Aguero/Silva (hopefully with Pogba and De Bruyne too) as he improves. He'd give us a completely different dimension to our attack and stretch the game.
