It seems the majority of this site has swallowed all the media hype about this lad, I really don't know what to say...but I'm going to remember this thread if we sign him, when everyone is sick to death of this lad running down blind alleys rather than giving a simple pass, inability to cross/shoot/pass, turning over possession too often and generally being a dick. Navas is better than him I'll guarantee you

Why do most people make comparisons with Navas ?? Sterling can play anywhere at the front so don`t lets make out he`s a winger, nor a replacement for Navas.

So where is he going to play if we sign him as he's no better a forward than anyone we already have, he's certainly not better creatively than Silva, Nasri or Yaya and he's not a centre mid, we have nobody on the left so that's where he'd go and as I said before he can't fucking cross and doesn't give the pass when it's on. What are his attributes apart from being fast?

P.s. I see Fantasy the child has stirred from his crib to proclaim all footballers "mint" and not explain why he thinks it and then cries when anyone disagrees.

Sterling is fast, direct and can beat a man.His inclusion would allow Silva to play his best role as well as satisfy our HG quota. Its a no brainer.

Sterling would get plenty of match time with us imo. Flexible enough to play right across the front. Pace would be a real asset but he has more about him than that. Carried Liverpool earlier in the year and would do well with us right away.

Lots of improvement/development left in him as well.

Do me a favour and watch him, don't say you have coz it's clear as day you haven't. If he does sign it'll be your post that gets laughed at, nobody else's.

I think his main asset for us would be his off the ball running, his movement is livelier than anything we have in those areas. Silva needs runners ahead of him to pass to, and at the moment we lack those runners. Milner does a great job of it, but he's not got the pace to actually stay ahead of people, whereas Navas tends to track back so much that he's usually running from deep instead of putting pressure on the shoulder of the last man. If you look at the way Barca kept clipping the ball diagonally over our CB's to their wingers, we don't have that.

If we're going to give ourselves the option to play 433, then we need one of two players like Sterling. If we're going to carry on with our 4222, I can't really see him being much use as he's really not particularly special when it comes to having a lot of players in front of him imo.
