Have we returned with yet another bid?

I've really talked myself into this transfer, so much so I'll actually be a bit gutted if we don't get it tied up. The potential space he could create for Aguero is the thing which is making me hope we sign him.
Not as of yet but for some reason it takes 2 days to actually bid for a player it seems as it's always 'will bid in the next 48 hours'

We want TEAM players not spoilt little boys who just want lots of money and if they can't get their own way sulk and put in a transfer request.
Do you honestly believe Sterling is leaving Liverpool to go to us for the money?

Have you woken up in the 80's when Liverpool actually challenged for titles?

Well it won't go in the thread that it's meant to go in but I really, really cant make my mind up.

He could be a world beater for us but just as easily he couldn't get in the side. Like I said on here yesterday, one goal in sixteen international appearances ? - seven goals last season for the mickeys ?

A good player though by all accounts.

I too would love him at city, but if we walk away now it could help us secure other targets far easier. It would show we are willing to pay top dollar but won't be pissed about. Other clubs will be forced to accept our second offer at the latest or fear we'll walk away as well. So get those deals done, then go back for Stirling in a months time with the same offer after shitting themselves that they've got a seriously unhappy star player that they can't play on their books

To all those who want to quote stats and comment on what he will be worth 5 years from now. If it was your money would you want to spend today what a player might be worth in 5 years time? We can all quote Messi and others but the list of those who got no better is far longer.
Regardless of how he improves, anybody who bets on a footballer still being at the club in 5 years is likely to lose most of the time. I just take Sterling at face value today, and £50m is no longer mad money, given the TV deal. He is homegrown, he has the pace we badly lack, and he can beat a man on a postage stamp. With the amount of possession we have in and around the penalty area, he could be the different approach we sometimes need. For me, It's not a bet on potential, but on how/whether he fits into our jigsaw puzzle. I think it's a good bet, based on the gaps he would fill for us, and the fact we know for certain he can have a good season in the Premier League, given the right accompaniment. He's also had a few decent games for England where he provided the spark. That puts him in very small pool of suitable HG players.

I don't understand this opinion, I'm starting to conclude that many of those who hold it are much older than myself and Sterling (I'm two years older than the lad). Whilst growing up I don't remember Liverpool being a major force, the two things which stand out for Liverpool are a Gerrard cup-winning goal vs West Ham and the Champions League final, that's it. They're not a major force in English football, they never have been during my lifetime. In an interview Sterling is asked who his hero was whilst growing up as a kid, he replies with Rooney. That's the 29 year old Wayne Rooney currently playing for United and England - NOT an ex-has-been, which speaks volumes for Sterling's age.

This isn't about money, this is about wanting to join a bigger club for success.

Here's hoping we get it tied up.
