I'm with you on the valuation. No way is he worth anywhere remotely close to that figure. But you also have the counter argument that any commodity is worth what the buyer is prepared to pay. I'd have said £30-35m tops.

Because football is a strange old game. People need to stop worrying about how much we pay for a player. Your not paying it. Players prices will continue to rise and rise. Psg paying 50 million for sideshow bob. Barca and real spending stupid money for years. The kids got some much potential it's frightening.

We don't need to pay huge wages but we're going to give a lad who only exited his teens 6 months ago, and someone who is very much still in the 'potential' bracket when determining his fee, upwards of 200k a week after he publicly stated he only turned down 100k a week from LFC because he wants to win things...

Why would we offer him more than that sort of figure?
