2 words....Andy....Carroll.Scousers are a barrel of laughs. Last summer Sterling is the next Ronaldo. This summer, the next Scott Sinclair.
Well, I guess you guys win then. Great deal for you. But somehow I am not angry. So can we say win win situation and call it even?
35m a few seasons ago for that bag of shite, so 49m now is about the going rate. Plus Sterling pisses all over him.2 words....Andy....Carroll.
Exactly mate, it's the leveller for every football signing.35m a few seasons ago for that bag of shite, so 49m now is about the going rate. Plus Sterling pisses all over him.
Makes me look forward to seeing him play for us.Got to love some of the reinvented history posts and comments.
The reality for me is:
- we've sold one of the best young players In Europe
- with the right development, he could be up there with the best in the world
- we got decent money, considering all the shite that went on.
- I'd rather have a happy Sterling than £49m. The former was impossible after all that went on
- we now hope and pray we replace him. And God help the RAWK servers if we already have 'replaced'
If I was Sterling, a part of me doesn't blame him. He is 20 and went from a boy to a Man way after we won our last major 'major' trophy (2005). He was 12. A kid.
Liverpool did develop him, and genuinely, I am sure he will be thankful. Particularly if his career pans out. But he has to do what is right for him, and if he feels a move to City is, then good luck to him.
I am dissapointed he has gone, it is a real shame to lose a top talent before he could fully mature.
One thing that can't be underestimated is that Sterling has taken a lot of shit from every angle these past few months. That's a lot of people who he will be determined to prove wrong. This bodes well for us.
Exactly mate, it's the leveller for every football signing.
Not to mention....Has to be this, to rub it in a bit more "do do do do do do do do, Raheem sterling"
I'll kick this off
Sheik Mansour took a trip up the River Mersey
Brought Raheem back on the boat in a sky blue Jersey
The media will write him off after a few bad games, City fans won't.How fast will people write him off?

I quite like this quote from an unusually level-headed RAWK poster
Makes me look forward to seeing him play for us.
Its a fair point that you have rich Sheiks so maybe the money issue doesnt matter to you. But simply as a football fan discussing transfers, hes not worth that kind of money. Youre not getting that kind of player in that kind of money bracket.
Did we want Sterling to leave? No why would we, we were building him up as a player. Would I sell him for £49million? Id help him pack.
Listen its not a slight on you guys, youve bought him, youve got rich sheiks so what do you care. But hes worth nothing near that kind of money.
At the end of the day weve got no problems with you guys or clubs like Arsenal, all im saying is you might think how much did we pay for this guy after 6 months.
The betrayal from him is simply the way he treated the club, after we built him as a player, helped him grow, we even gave him a holiday in the middle of the season for goodness sake, we bent over backwards for him, and he repaid us by being a douche. As some of you have said, Milner left on good terms, thats because he conducted himself properly, this guy didnt.
Imagine if Harry Kane started acting the big i am just because he had his breakthrough season last year with Spurs. Thats what sterling did. He is only 20 remember.
