Not a City info drop, Mike McGrath is not someone City go with, certainly if nobody else has it.

He used to be close to Sterling's former agent Aidy Ward, but that association to Raheem is over.

Raheem would not be telling McGrath a City slant, certainly because he wouldn't need to.

He would go straight to City if he was showing any inclination to resuming contract talks and he hasn't.

Interesting. Man City's general position has always been that they want sterling to renew though. More reliable city sources have reported that in the past, It's sterling who's driving his exit seems like, so in that sense I'm not sure it matters what city's position is outside of selling him in the summer or being content to let him leave on a free.

He's on what, 300k or close to it per week already...? no way should we be giving him an IMPROVED contract based on his form for over a year now. Time to go our separate ways, imo.. but it's clear Pep likes him on a personal level so I wouldn't be surprised if he was in his corner over it.

I get that Maly. Simple question if he were available today would we buy him?

Of course we would. And not ou that, most of those writing him off would be calling for him to be signed and arguing he would score for fun here and imagone what pep could do with him etc.

Does this mean City wants to give him a new improved contract?

The offer was on the table and then he sacked his agent and employed a team of lawyers.

They dragged things out until this summer and when he came back from holiday, he told the club he wanted to wait and see how his game time went.

That usually wouldn't be a problem, but with only 12 months remaining next summer, we smelt something was off.

Raheem got his new PR who was previously of RocNation to brief that he essentially wants to leave.

City wanted to give him a new deal but I believe both parties aren't kidding themselves at this point.

Maybe Raheem will realise the only way is down after City, but I also understand he has been with us a long time and might just fancy a change, rather than people presuming him and Pep have some sort of major beef.

What does everyone think he current market value would be either in January or the summer, when he has 12 months left?
40-50 million maybe???

He's a regular starter for his international side and only 26 years old. Name me players of his age and experience who we could replace him with for £40m. Declan Rice is rated at £100m. Would you sign Rice for Sterling and £60m. I certainly wouldn't. I do wish posters would stop totally undervaluing our players.
Donny van der Beek cost £40m, would you straight swap Raheem for him?

Top post mate this is spot on

To use vlahovic as an example as they both have same contact length, he has had a good 12 months and is valued at £80 million double that of what people are saying Sterling is worth ? Somebody explain that because I can’t get my head around it

hazard went for £100 million at 28 years old with just 12 months left on his deal

Sterling is 2 years younger and his goals and assists In the premier league are near identical to what hazards was .

if we wanted to sign Sterling now for instance it would be easily £80 + million, for fuck sake that **** Sancho just went for that and he’s half the player Sterling is
