Our fans are melting down on twitter. I also don't like the fact that we're going to lose both Jesus and Sterling in the same transfer window, but I think they're being just a tad bit overdramatic.
Welcome to the 2020s

while it may not be fair to say just because they are leaving now and it was briefed by Jack Gaughan at the time - that they were absent due to personal reasons but a coincidence that

Raz and Gabby BOTH were the only players to miss the title parade
I think Gabby had a reasonable excuse in that his baby was born the day after the parade.

Anyone notice the report in the Mail this morning about Chelsea allegedly whilst sniffing around Sterling also putting out feelers regarding Ake?

I don't think there's anymore that can be added from both sides of his view as a player that haven't been said already. For me his highs far outweighed any of the lows(misses). One memory of his is the 17/18 season where he scored 3 late game winners consecutively in the same week against feyernood, huddersfield and southampton. All games the team were struggling to break the opposition down where he proved the difference.

He at that point fully certified himself as the go to guy in a side that had aguero, silva, de bruyne etc. Helping to Kickstart the first of many league titles under pep. A genuine match winner in the greatest single season in premier league history. That is the sterling that will stick in the memory.

I would hope and firmly expect that that is complete and utter bullshit. We saw very clearly that we needed all four centre backs towards the end of the season (and even then, it was really touch and go). Aké has clearly come on in terms of Pep's requirements since he's got over his injury and got proper game time. We need him. The more so in that he is an occasional option for left back if the Cucurella deal doesn't go through.

The rumour is being echoed on Sky Sports and the BBC. But these are mere echo chambers for each other and the press. Something has to fill out the summer I suppose, between matches showcasing England's thrilling new brand of cricket… (groans from some on here).

Agreed. I think the problem has been that his misses have often been spectacular misses. Whereas his goals have often been unspectacular goals. But his figures speak for themselves, and he's got absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Still quite angry about the absolute hammering he got from fans up and down the country for at least a year for daring to leave Liverpool.
Would rather he went abroad, frankly. I'm uneasy about him strengthening a direct league rival.
