So...no roadside bombs, kidknappings and other malarkey for a month?

Sorry Bob,but that is just wrong.
Like yourself,I have little time for organised religion personally, but the sweeping negative generalisation you made was totally uncalled for.
Ajay posted in good faith,(pardon the pun),in an attempt to explain and enlighten.
Your cliched response was blinkered and unwarranted.

A flippant post for which i am sorry.Especially if i insulted anyone in their special time.If anyone took my post to mean that ALL Muslims were bombers/Terrorists then i can only apologise as this was not the case but more of a stupid way of highlighting that not ALL followers of religion stick to the supposed message.

Happy Ramadan to all followers of Mohammed and please accept my apologies if anyone took insult to my original post.

BimboBob, I did but I accept, for myself at least. I can't vouch for others but please bear in mind that 100s of thousands of muslims have been killed in the conflicts since 2001, disproportionately more than our brave and noble service personnel and western victims of terrorism.

And Ajay was trying to simply post happy thoughts...

I think i fell into the right religion.

Christianity Most Holy Time - Get pissed, eat big fuck off Turkey's, Chocolate Cake and put on half a stone in 2 weeks.

Islam Most Holy Time - No food for long periods! I wouldn't be able to do that!

Good luck to all who's doing it!!

is your name not hindu in its origin

I think it's a nickname, which is common in muslim families as referring to family members by formal Islamic names can be seen as rather unloving. But you're right, Ajay sounds distinctly hindu [could be an acronym].

As for curry, Chef's specials tend to mean dishes they learnt in their family's area of the sub-continent, and so should be fantastic.

I've known about Ramadan since the early 90's when my boss was a Muslim and he observed his religion as devoutly as I've ever seen.

Since than I've had (and still do have) many Muslim friends and colleagues but I never knew all of the info in Ajay's post.

Cheers Ajay and Ramadan Kareem to you.
