Random interactions with nature

Had a 4 ft Montpelier snake take up refuge in my tool box...not much work done that day. Rescued our daft Labrador from said snake a few days later and wifey had same snake slither across her foot, her face was a picture.
One of our guests showed me a scorpion he had taken out of the shower.
Watched a large snake hunting mice in the roots of an old tree next to our house, you could hear the squeals from the babies and the mother kept going back in and bringing the babies out one by one...it really upset the mrs but that's nature I suppose.

Followed an otter up the stream running near our house here in Wales. It was pissing down with rain and I had 4 dogs on leads. It was hunting for eels and because of the weather and it was dusk it didn't know I was following him about 6 ft behind, quite a surreal feeling.

Aren't they exotic birds you see in pet shops? How would they survive the winters? Do they scarper and come back again? The most colourful thing I ever see back home was a Robin but I rarely paid attention

During the really cold snap last December we went a walk near a local lake, very snowy, we were down by the lake edge, and a Robin came and sat near us (few yards away) in a bush, so we stayed still for while, eventually it ended up sitting on my wifes hand, amazing really, but it had no fear of us. While we were there another guy came over quietly, and it eventually went and sat on his arm as well.

I was out walking the dogs this morning, and heard a funny squawk, looked up into the trees and saw several Parakeets not somethings I thought I’d see in the middle of Lancashire, I remember years ago when I first visited St James Park near the palace and they were everywhere, I’m guessing they must be country wide now
I was working in Reddish vale country park last year preventing the River Tame from washing away the foundations of the railway viaduct and there were loads of them in the trees where we had set up a compound.

anyone seen the Loch Lomond wallabies? quite shy but restricted to a small island.

ran into a deer the other day, gave each other a right shock.
Same happened to me in a subway underneath Trinity way I had walked along the footpath on the banks of the Irwell. I was at one end the Deer the other. I shit it but the deer blinked first and it ran towards Mcr City centre the last I saw of it was it was running back across Trinity way where Domino's pizza is. Half 5 in the morning like.

Shit loads of foxes around my house. When my dog was a pup they would sit and watch us. Now he's fully grown they scarper at first sight. Beautiful animals.

Came across a few adders when out hill walking, if you start early and the first person along the path you're quite like to bump into them warming themselves up.

Stumbled across this beast in the Mojave Desert.

About the size of my fist.
