Random ramblings on robinho/media/double standards

I doubt there is a bigger Robiho fan on here than me, though I would love to have a debate over a pint over the issue.

That said, Bellamy at the moment is on fire and fully desrves all the plaudits he is receiving.

I have to admit I have never been a big fan of his, but keep putting in the shits like he has then it wouild be impossible for any City fan to be ould Bellamy and Robinho play together - maybe against a poor side that we want to wallpo?
have you woken up with dyslexic fingers this morning... :-) its a bit unclear what you mean... but playing bellamy on left and robinho in the hole would be possible... with teves in front and swp on the right... man that is a frightening quick line up!!

Good read ono, I agree with most of it.
But at the same time I just think some supporters have a hatred towards the media in general. You have to remember the media only wants to sell advertising space (papers, tv, radio is all the same) to make money. They write what they think people will find interesting, though more and more tabloid-media has turned to SHOCKING/FANTASTIC/THRILLING to sell even more papers. Yes they bend the truth and sometimes even lies, but at the end of the day they write what people want to hear.
I think Man City don't have many friends among fellow football fans after the take over. People don't like the idea of "another Chelsea". Destroying the spirit of the game by buying success. Foreign secluded owners with a bottomless pit of money who aren't "footballing people" but shrewd businessmen. Most shamefully the tabloid papers also flirts with anti-Islam and racist attitudes in general.
As for Robinho they want to see him live up to the reputation he perhaps unfairly got a Real Madrid: Technically brilliant but a lazy egotistical player. It just links in with a lot of people feel about MCFC, what people want to read about us. Sadly they want us and our flag-ship signing to fail so the media will spin it this way! The tabloid media has outsold serious media for decades now, and it will only get more extreme and moronic...

That's how we just need to stand together and never take our eyes off the ball. We love MCFC, we were there in the lower leagues. We've been there for our most spectacular failures and the worst strokes of bad luck.
It doesn't matter what those fucking morons write or say about our club, we know the score.
It's our club and we should always support it.

Excellent post and i agree 100%. The thing that worries is me is when people on here start repeating what they've read in the papers.

Don't forget Petrov. Along with Tevez, our best player in the last two games imo.

arrrggg i can put Ireland in that equation also if we only talk speed... no i havent forgotten petrov... he has been playing really well in last two games... and deserves a place... but how do you fit in 6 players in 4 spots... thats the trouble... and for me if i have to choose just out of my interest i would love to see those 4 i mentioned get a chance to play together... just to see what they would be able to do together...

Totally off-topic, but will you be doing a transfer thread like last window? Enjoyed that, was quite useful for a quick overview of the daily happening :)

I reckon we should (and Mancini will) play the squad game, picking our team to beat the opposition - varying the approach each time.

Seriously ono did the commentator say robbie's pass was miss placed ?. Cause fuck me i though it was a brilliant bleeding pass and a master stroke by Mancini. We bring Garrido on he scores, we bring Robbie on and he sets up a goal with an awesome swerving pass.
Yeah he tried to point out it was a long ball intended for Bellamy. He'd just simply mishit it.

Suppose you could counter it with 'Robinho's so good, he sets people up by accident'

I can guarantee that if Robinho had ballooned one over from three yards, missed an easy one on one opportunity, been the only person in the stadium not to notice that Stevie Ireland had no-one within thirty yards of him, failed to play in Garrido when the pass was straight forward, and generally given the ball away on countless occasions, he would have been crucified on here, and lambasted in the media. The Welsh Messi gets man of the match, because he tracks back and chases after balls he's given away in the first place. I'm used to fans favourite's getting an easy ride on here, and 'whipping boys' getting singled out. The media thing is interesting though. If we're not careful, they may well manage to get their way and see Robinho leave our football club. The sad thing is that some City fans will be celebrating.

It's true. Countless times Bellamy misplaced a pass when he had the chance to put someone in on goal. They would have been excellent chances and the fact he didn't see Ireland's run was criminal.

Again not a dig at Bellamy, just pointing out that i agree with you. He had a good game but he also made mistakes that others would have been crucified for.

I can only draw the conclusion that work-rate and body language seems to over shadow everything else.

Just started it today. Is the text appearing properly because for me this 'onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

is showing quite a lot and i'm not sure why

I think its also down to what Bellamy has done the last 4 months for the team... they give him the odd bad match because somehow he has delivered for a couple of months now... if Bellamy run into an injury soon and would be away for 3 months and someone else comes in and hits top form during that time he would also struggle to get the fans with him when he came back because so many fans have a very short memory... look what Robinho delivered his first season for us... and look at what so many fans rates him this season after 3 months off injury and trying to find his form again... thats the nature of football and its fans...
