Random things you remember about City matches

Some lad throwing his crutches at the linesman away at Huddersfield '88 in the cup if I remember correctly

the pitch invasion after the game against charlton '85.
scrapping in liverpool as a 15 year old after game at anfield '89.
lakey swallowing his tongue.
oldham away when megson scored for us, how that many blues got in i'll never know. they was hanging off the floodlights, at half time i remember looking up the hill at the back of the stand and there was thousands of blues still walking down.
going to huddersfield the year after we beat them 10-1 and getting beat! (typical)

Just been reading the thread about peoples first city game. I comented saying that I dont even remember which year my first game was let alone who we played! but I can remember some really fuckin stupid insignificant things about certain matches.

like Frank Clarkes first game as manager was against Norwich!

Ayone got anymore that might just be more pointless than this thread!

Frank Clarke's 1st game should have been an FA Cup tie away at Brentford but that was postponed and played about 2 weeks later.

His 1st game as manager was at home V Crystal Palace. We scored through a David Tuttle own goal and then George N'Dah scored for palace.

No, i havent looked it up on Wikipedia before anyone asks.

There had been a kiss and tell about Andy Dibble in the News Of The World a few days before a boring game at Maine Road (cant remember which one). There wasnt much of an atmosphere and it was pretty quiet all game. The ball was down the opposite end of the pitch to Dibs and he was casually stood there when some bloke from the Kippax bellows: 'Are you out with the ladies tonight Andyyyyyyyyyyy?' To which he looked into the crowd laughs and sticks his thumb up!! I was only a kid and I thought it was pretty funny.

I always remembered my first game was a testimonial in the mid-60's and involved City & United but until recently didn't realise it could only have been Bert Trautmann's in April 1964.

I wish I could remember more about it than I do, as a combined City/United team captained by Bert took on an England XI that apparently included Stanley Matthews, Tom Finney & Jimmy Armfield.

One of my first games too....

Bert thanked everyone over the tannoy at the end, for the kindness shown to him..........

I mentioned this to Bert a couple of weeks ago at the COMS, and he said he remembered it well..........:-))

I remember me shit loads of other throwing carrots at Tony Adam's when we played Arsenal one year.
Players these days dont now there born, you say one bad thing to them and get kick out.

Being passed over the turnstiles in the mainstand at Maine Road by my dad, so probably watched City for around 5 years without paying.

Favourite memory was sitting in the boardroom at Villa Park at half time drinking Carling from their fridge, somebody had left a door open by mistake and the blues piled in, this was the FA Cup match when Richards equalised in injury time.

Can't remember the exact year, probably around 1966/7, but the City Mascot and Liverpool/Everton? mascot having a full scale fist fight in the centre circle at Maine Road before the game, rolling about in the mud..... both wearing their team colours....

The Police had to drag them apart..........lol!
