Rangers thread 2020/21

I see the media picked the Rangers fan from Only an Excuse to defend their super spreader celebrations. Blaming Sturgeon for it...

As I said, Celtic had a crowd gathered in a couple of occasions, Leeds had 10k in the city centre, Liverpool had thousands at Anfield, it was always going to happen I'm afraid when an event so big happened. I don't condone it but football fans seem to be a law unto themselves in the main.

bet the only club that gets vilified with arrests and bans is us if we win the league and a few hundred over-enthusiastic folk turn up at the Etihad.

If the club put out a statement telling fans not to turn up its not the clubs fault if they do it's the government's problem for not enforcing lockdown and the club have nothing to answer for

Rangers following that guy who blamed Sturgeon. Talk about playing to their vote No contingent. Fucking pathetic.

Did you see the letter sent to the government from Douglas Park. It clearly states a time line of dialogue between the officials, police Scotland & several MSP's. Everyone & their granny knew something like this was going to happen, so why were they so ill prepared for it?

I don't believe the club has the power to close roads. They certainly don't have the power to shut George Square. The manager spoke on Friday & Sat in press conference asking people to celebrate safely. The club put several messages over the tannoy at the stadium on Saturday asking them to disperse. A lot of the crowd chose to go to George Square. I'm not sure what else the club should have done.

Sturgeon put a tweet out on Sat night saying Rangers should ask the fans to leave George Square. Does she honestly think, thousands of pissed up folk that honestly didn't really care about public safety beforehand, are going to look at their phone, see a tweet from Rangers & say, that's it lads, time to go home? Do they think those celebrating on Shankill Road would say we better get home as well folks?

Like I said, the fault lies with the people that chose to go out during the Pandemic, that's a given. But as per usual, the government & Police Scotland are caught dropping the ball again, being reactive instead of proactive.

They might not have, but, its like Trump failing to call off his insurrecriinists. He got slated rightly for not even asking them to stop. All it would have took was a statement saying go home. They wouldn't have, but Rangers didn't ask them to. That's the issue and not doing so isn't Sturgeons fault. Rangers as you say couldn't stop it, but could have been seen publicly to ask. Why no statement? You have a whole department on statements. That's all it would have taken to say we did all we could.

We will see what happens fan wise a week on Sunday.
Not looking good at this stage
Must be a worry for both clubs.

Maybe the statement department were partying as well, on a Sat evening, when they've just clinched the league
I suppose we see things different. Id be more concerned about how the relevant parties (including Rangers) failed to plan for it properly possibly preventing it rather than paying lip service after the horse has bolted.

Just wondering, did the clubs I mentioned above put out tweets?

Yeah, it is a big worry, I hope our lot stay at home, we really have no business going over there just to wind them up. Unfortunately, like I said lots of times, thinking is not a strong point for some of these people.

I think they will call the league. Talk in parliament about it. With the possibility of another repeat, a massive square go.i think they might. On our sites a message has gone out to come out and keep you lot away from damaging our ground. With thst in mind it may be best to admit it's not worth it.
