Rangers v Celtic.

The thing is, Celtic fans have this whole anti-British attitude yet they support a British team. It's even more laughable when you see Irish people (and not these plastic paddies born and bred in Glasgow that make up a lot of their fanbase) announcing their support for them then spouting crap about how the British are evil.

Both teams just have this fucked up mentality, bringing politics and religion into a place where it's innapropriate. I wonder if Glasgow Warriors have a Protestant/Catholic following.

I agree fully with you mate. Raus Raus Fila Fila! lol

It's just men with nothing better to do playing little toy soldiers and living in the past.

I'm from an Irish family but never felt the need to align myself to Celtic.

Haha, "little toy soldiers", good way of putting it! It really is a stupid reason to support a football team, and hate another, just because of your religion. It just smacks of bigotry.

I don't even really care too much for Hibs, who also have a Catholic following. Ironically the only SPL team I like are Hearts. In fact, aren't the rags traditionally a Catholic team, whereas we had more of a Protestant following? Although sectarianism in Manchester doesn't seem as obvious as it is up in Glasgow, if it even exists.

Lebensraum! Kulturkampf!

Yeah, I lived in Edinburgh for a while and got to know a few Hibs/Hearts fans, always preferred Hearts of the 2.

I've always thought that traditionally the rags were Catholic whilst we were Protestant but then no one really cares about religion and football do they so not sure it even matters? If I was a catholic I'd still be a blue and I know plenty of Catholics who are blues.

Rangers and Celtic just live in the past, they don't want things to change, they love it.

Pol Pot withdrawn traces bye bye!

Yeah, well as I say, sectarianism isn't heard of in Manchester, just that when both clubs were established, I've heard we had a Protestant following and the rags had a Catholic following. But of course our rivalry has nothing to do with religion as much as proximity.

As for living in the past - Well these people who enforce the sectarianism in the fanbases are knuckle dragging neanderthals so go figure!

Mr. Lenin, awaken the boy.

A couple of years ago I would have wanted Rangers to win but after the behaviour of both sets of fans in Manc. I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were on fire.

Having to live among the scum from both sides is awful, the Premiership knew better than to take. I wish they had fucked off though. Can't stand the pair of them.

Seeing as we were formed from a protestant church (St Mark's in Gorton) I would have thought that was a given!

It probably mattered a little bit in the past but really doesnt now. I am probably one of a relatively few City fans that still attends church and I have to say that club allegiance based on denomination is anathema to everything the church and christianity stands for.

I suspect the Rangers/ Celtic thing is based on a different agenda.

Celtic were robbed again. Brown should never have been sent off and Bougherra shouldn't have made it to half time, joke of a referee.

What? You expect to win the league every year in a two-team league?

Na but you expect it to be fair on big games like today. Celtic have every right to feel aggrieved
