Rank Our Players in Terms of Importance...

Thanks Bigga for this, and a great idea. I like how you've done it and your thinking behind it. Would be nice to read a few more assessments.
After watching Torres last night, I'd add him to the list. His hatricks against both Germany and Newcastle suggest we missed a trick or two with him so far. Good game awareness and should be called from the bench before Sterling. Less a false number 9 than a real number 9. Cool finisher too.
So you're a Doors fan too? : )

Quite honestly Torres should be in the mix, but he's not a regular, I can't truly assess how he knits into the team ethos on the pitch yet.

It sounds daft as his movement is great and he scores goals, but I feel like his game has changed since he first came and, like Grealish, I want to see what he's developing into.

It is interesting that he's not a single-minded player and, yet, I feel like he's being shaped into something close to that now he's swapped with Jesus, essentially.

And yes, that line from The Doors, being a fan, seemed incredibly apt for the mystery bus tour City would be taking us on!

{Foden, Dias, De Bruyne} > {The rest of the squad}

KDB at the moment is not that influential but this is a fitness issue. He is potentially our most influential player.

The top 5 players in English football:

Ederson, Dias, Foden, de Bruyne, Salah.

I don't think Ederson is that great a traditional keeper but in terms of influence on a team it is huge because of his distribution. I absolutely would pick Ederson every day over Alisson. The morons of the press actually tell me that Alisson has got great distribution but if you press him he panics see last two City games at Anfield.

Yes, it's so "mental" that our lovely M.E.N. decided to nick the idea for it's own paper presentation yesterday (nicked idea number 2 actually, so 'Hi lads!').

It's only exploring personal ideas about which players help the dynamic of the team.

Get a grip.
Good topic. I enjoyed flicking through it. It led me to think that City could and should boss the Ballon D'ors now but the fly in the ointment is Salah.

And I need to get this fuckin' Salah shit off my chest...

Yes, it was a good goal to slalom through a couple of players and to hit and hope, just to score.

No matter what happens in 'Goal of the Season' that will be very high in the conversation.

However, for me Foden's was the better, purer strike as he looked where he wanted that ball to end up.

I'm, maybe, biased but I'm also analytical.

I've only just seen this post, somehow!

I think I will be the only person on the forum to say so, but I believe Harty was actually the better goal keeper in his prime (diving to the left granted and his unwillingness to distribute as Guardiola or learn was the downfall we all know now!), but Ederson is the better overall goalkeeper; different things.

Odd, really.
