Runners up. We must be shit!

8.5

We're not shit that's kind of the point some are missing
Missing the point is saying 4/10, and then saying "We're not shit that's kind of the point some are missing".

4/10 is, in anyone's marking system, "shit".

Your logic is well off fella just because the season has been shit doesn't mean we are a shit team, Rory had a shit pga that is a 100% fact, he is not a shit player another 100% fact

If the thread was about this team over the last few years it would be a high score

Fairly straightforward really

The best way to measure this season is to remember your expectations on the opening day.

Did you hope to finish at least 2nd, reach the Last 16 of the Champions League, but exit from both domestic competitions without much of a fight?

Personally, I thought that Chelsea were favourites for the Premier League, but given a favourable draw, we might reach Wembley. What never crossed my mind was losing to Newcastle, and Middlesbrough (and almost Sheffield Wednesday).
I kept reading and hearing about the depth of our squad yet every time it was utilised, we seemed to fail

Possibly a good idea to read what the thread is actually about and not what you would like to be about rather than run around like a child calling posters rags and abusing them for having an opinion that differs from yours?

The title of the thread is ' Rate The Season'
That is the season that finished yesterday.
Not the one the year before or the year before that.

You're bang on fella, prior to the charity shield if you told fans how the season would pan out they would say it was shit, some fans are very strange, shit season move on

6.5/10

Not winning a trophy with this squad is huge, especially when you look at who we were knocked out by in domestic cups and we were at home in both those ties

And when you look at our six matches vs the other teams who finished in the top four,
W-1
D-3
L-2

Losing two matches vs teams who were relegated is dreadful

On the positive side, Aguero was fucking fantastic this season. Without doubt the greatest player I've ever seen playing for City
He is irreplaceable

After watching the poor pre-season preparation culminating in the surrender in the Community Shield and the home defeat to Stoke, I expected pretty much what we got. The major surprise was that we actually ground out wins in November and December to got level with Chelsea the first week in Jan only to then subsequently fall apart twice over a three month period before winning 6 games on the bounce playing the best football of the season.
Getting knocked out of the League cup And FA cup the way we were was embarrassing though.

For a club of our stature,at the point of our development, the season can only be described as frustrating and disappointing and our 6 wins has only papered over some very obvious cracks that will have to be corrected if we are to put in a real challenge for the title and cups next season. It will not go down well with some on here but we've gone backwards by more than just one league place !!

The Charity Shield was a foretaste of much of what was to follow. Indecisive, muddled management by Manuel Pellegrini. Apathetic, uncommitted performances by too many players...think Stoke at home. Defence of the League cup over by Autumn...well beaten by Newcastle shadow squad. FA Cup over in two games well beaten by Boro after scraping through agin Wednesday. Title challenge over before spring, complacently losing points to all the relegated sides Local pride lost with a shameful capitulation at rag land...unforgivable !!

Some real high points,Munich,Rome and 'er........Mackams,Saints & Stoke away !!

Much work to do in the summer irrespective of who goes, stays or comes. And the biggest change has to be in attitude, mentality, professional pride etc from top to bottom. We've lost that 'fight' never mind 'to the end'intensity and there's been little evidence of #Together.

4 out of 10.

4 out of 10.

Bang on the button fella.
Every point you make is spot on and true. You are correct some will not like it but you speak the truth.

6/10 for me.

Can't honestly remember any game at home where I thought we were in total control (actually beating Newcastle is the only game I can think of).

I haven't enjoyed many games this season, we've lost that winning mentality, that feeling of invincibility at home, which is one of the many good things Mancini brought to this club.

Well, 4/10 is only one less than 5/10, which is par, average.

So what most people are saying is that their expectations are so low they've been wildly exceeded this season.

4/10 is below par, two stars out of 5, which is poor, mediocre.

As Mark Kermode has said, two stars in just unmemorable, it's mediocre, it's not terrible but it's completely forgettable.

If this season has exceeded anyone's expectations then I think they're a bit mad.
