The defence of our title was over by the end of January.
Embarrassing exits from both domestic cups in the early rounds to lower league teams.
No progress in the CL.
(Lets not even mention the shambles that was the Charity Shield).
The harsh truth being that we never seriously competed in any competition this season at all.
Finishing second just masks the overall poor season this year.

But Stockport county beat us once so the above doesn't matter, 10/10 or your not a proper blue

A 7/10 for me. Not because of the results but because of the poor football for long periods. Not long ago we were a joy to behold - now we are a slog at times.
Only Silva and Aguero made it through the season with their heads held high.
We suffered from bad luck right through the season. Who brought it upon us is all up for debate. It's hard to know why or what to do about it and though I moan on here I wouldn't want to be too critical. Everyone only wants to do their best and we need to trust and support them.
Hopefully next season will be a more positive one.

Some peoples marking scale is not realisitic. It seems to me that if all clubs were being rated no one other than maybe Chelsea would be given more than zero. What mark would be given to United and Liverpool - are minus 10's allowed!

End of season form masking whole season opinions - It's nothing new. I'd maybe push to 6/10 for things like Aguero getting the golden boot and Hart the golden gloves, but the cold facts are that we haven't properly challenged for a single competition we've been in, which for a club like ours isn't good enough. We're not going to win the league every year, but we should always be challenging for it until the end. Unfortunately for large parts even our football wasn't very exciting, so we fell down there as well.
