I think it’s probably his versatility that we might like. He tends to play left back, but pops up all over the pitch for Wolves.If City are ‘interested’ it shows they are a certain calibre of player as well. Might get Chelsea bid sort of thing they’d do.
Maybe we think he can cover a few positions and he replaces Gomez in the squad?

Ait Nouri would cost what 35-50m seems a lot for that. Gomez fits well for that position in my opinion. Young, wants to be here, play multiple roles, doesn’t cost a lot (fee and wages). I say he wants to be here he might want to move on and that’s fair enough. Think if we really wanted to replace him it should be more like for like.True. Insane price for a very very mediocre player. Even half of that seems excessive. Wouldn’t rule out this is Jorge Mendes just trying to drive up some interest.
I also wonder why we’re pretty much only linked with PL players. Window hasn’t opened yet and we’ve already been linked with Branthwaite, Robinson, Ait-Nouri, Bruno G, Douglas Luiz, Palhinha, Paqueta, Olise and Neto. Apart from Paqueta I think there are better options for every of those players outside the PL. I guess being PL proven is a very important aspect, but is it really THAT important?
