This squad isn't now fine and we are crying out for a player like Cherki. We could wait. But what's the use? They're not upping the price by £20m, it's only a few. Lyon know that he's a bargain - and that it'll be a huge benefit having him here early than if we came back at the second window - but they're not in a position to take the piss. Just like we're not really in a position to take the piss either.

I suspect it'll get done with City thinking they've paid more than they could have and Lyon thinking they could have got more than they did. But at least he'll be here!

How much are they upping the price by?.
 
If we do sign him it's going to be so insufferable when the dippers inevitably start comparing him to Wirtz at every oppurtunity just like they did with Nunez and Haaland and you just know that the media are going to lap it up.
