RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Think your doing PSG down a little bit there, I wouldn’t say Liverpool would progress comfortably, Verrati to comeback in he’s been a big miss for PSG, whoever draws them are in for a difficult game.
Hmm, not sure I am tbqh, but let's hope it comes out of the hat. If I'm wrong then Liverpool are out, win/win.

A 'run of bad results' but 1st in the PL after the most difficult fixtures and 1st in the CL group. May the run continue like that!
My point is that last seasons bad run started when we had virtually won the PL with excellent results.
It took us quite a few games to get back on track.

I compare that to this game which was a nothing game after winning our group table with excellent football and comment that perhaps Pep does not want such a bad run.
Apologies if the post meaning was unclear.

Walker's performance was so weird even Martin Keown noticed.
By some distance this is the thing I have been most concerned by. He was well off his game, and we still aren't exactly sure why he missed the Villa game. Could be something, could be nothing, but it did look like he was off the pace and had missed some training which would also explain why he was played.

A collective "fuck-it" by City, reminiscent of the wigan cup final. Both games we were second best. Very rare occurrence making it so painful to watch. Cant remember our keeper being our best performer, or Kev's radar so wonky, or a game so meaningless. 2 banks of five, long ball first option, something we've faced many times and been successful, exposed the whole team.
The press was non-existent, the mid-field was a desert, the movement off the ball, or i should say the non-movement, was so untypical that the game was just one long
" W T A F" torment. Who-ever was selected, the outcome would be the same is my guess....
We were out-played, is the epitaph on a night that needs forgetting asap.

Pep can’t play youngsters at the expense of high earning professionals like Mahrez, Ake, Zin etc. Football has a hierarchy and he needs to keep the players who have not seen much game time fit and ready to go when called upon. Squad players need to feel included.

So, unless we trim the squad and promote youth then nothing will change.
I wasn't complaining about him playing those 3. Certain players shouldn't have even been on the plane.

Not good hearing Phil has Ankle Pain ffs

Honestly love Pep to bits for all he has done for us.

But today i am seething with him

No Walker in the Knockouts, Risking Phil.

He makes such a big thing about substitutes, then gives just one promising youngster 3 minutes in a dead rubber.

He could have brought on the likes of Walker etc for a few minutes late on.

We risk loosing our Kids to rivals if they can not even get game time in matches like last night,

If you recall, that bad run we had coincided with Guardiola taking the piss by playing understrength teams, with weird formations, BEFORE we'd won the title, hence the league & FA Cup losses to the Chavs, the loss to Leeds & the loss of the UCL Final to the Chavs again. All were perfectly avoidable.

We should have remained professional until we'd won the league, tried to win the FA Cup, & don't get me started on the UCL Final! When the job is complete, then we have the chance to fuck about with formations & squad players.

If there was ever a time to fuck around with our team, player positions & formation, it was last night. Why would Pep try to take last night's match so seriously, but fuck our team about in the one cup we're still yet to win? :-|
