RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Glad KDB played TBH. He looked rusty at the beginning but better than he usually looks coming back from being out. Never x'pected us to turn up and barnstorm, RB had more reason to play with heart than we did fighting for European football.

I'm not disappointed aside from Walker being a knob as that'll hurt us in our opener next round. I'd've like t've seen more youth to start but doubt it'd've changed result. We needed to get Phil the Cat and K to the B more minutes in them anyway.

Prep for a neutering of Wolves in the weekend. Think about CL in the new year.

Go City.
 
How was that not a penalty on Sterling?
Ref was awful and allowed them to kick us off the park.
I knew he was a homer the moment he booked KDB. Never seen that done before.
Disgraceful.
Apart from that we clearly didn’t give a fuck about that game. Why play such a strong line up if so.
Kyle was an idiot and let’s hope it doesn’t bite us on the bum…
 
I’m not Pep and he sees things in the squad that none of us do but I found everything about our shape and play and personnel baffling.

You trust that he looks at things holistically for the whole season but I quite honestly can’t see what we were trying to get from this game from start to Palmer’s couple of minutes at the end.

Hated that game. Minutes in the legs? For who. Fern?
He hasn’t got them in him and Kev is nowhere near the first team.
Raz comes on. Things look sharper with him running on the wing.
So we switch him into the middle and put Jack with no pace back out left.

If it’s all just an exercise I hated it. Didn’t look like a City team at all.
 
Totally unprofessional from Walker that. But fuck me what do you reckon the wanker ref would have made of Cathcarts challenge at weekend if that's a red. Gobshite pundits said fuck all at weekend for a worse challenge. Are we playing different rules in Europe. Half the team wasn't arsed Not sure why the kids didn't get more of a shout. Fucking shit show all round. Less said about this bullshit performance the better.

So you’re laughing at people saying it’s a shame we didn’t play some young players in a dead rubber game?

I can’t actually see any posts slating the outcome? Just the situation with Walker getting a needless red and young players getting no minutes.
 
Gash players and pep tonight we could just think are well we move on but now we going to lose Walker one of our most important players we cant move on because that dead runner cost us when it didn’t have to. Pep is weird when it comes to dead rubbers and subs.
 
Very mithed or annoyed not sure. It’s a dead rubber like Brighton last season and yes a few players(gundog,kdb,and walker)we’re out of sorts but fucking hell the ref was a proper twat tonight, wonder who paid him. Definitely a pen 2nd half for us(push in the back in the area).
 
Doesn’t matter too much in grander scheme of things but that was uncharacteristicly half arsed

the manager set the tone by saying they were off for a big meal, and it ended up with the team losing its rag and Kyle getting banned for the knockouts

if today was getting minutes in legs then don’t approach it in such a half arsed way. If it wasn’t, and was just a game to negotiate, we missed the chance to give some of the younger lads a taste of euro opposition
