RB Leipzig (H) - CL | Post-Match Thread

You think him of all people would understand that there are a lot of people still nervous about COVID and mingling in large crowds. Also people have either lost their jobs or having the furlough ending at the end of the month so money is tight. He earns more in a week than some fans earn in 10 years.
Sorry Pep great manager but shut the fuck up about the fans and keep your comments about the team.

Pep needs to have a good hard think, buying a ticket isn't easy because the ticket office is run it seems to actually prevent people buying tickets.

It's the club he should be having a pop at.

I think it’s what our fanbase needs. It worked for Klopp. Liverpool had that myth of an atmosphere going back years, then when Klopp moaned at them for being so quiet and leaving early too much, they’ve had the best atmosphere in England since.
Best atmosphere? Really?
How many times have we heard opposing fans sing “where’s your famous atmosphere “ #myth

how many goals conceded in those 11 games out of interest, compared to any other 11 games? 5 vs Leicester, 3 vs Newcastle, he was clearly at fault vs Spurs on the Son goal and 3 tonight…
Those 11 games were not even consecutive..he has hardly had a chance to develop any form for City..you can not compare someone who has played 11 games with someone who has played 100 games..it is not statistically significant..disagree he was at fault tonight for all goals, but the forum is for all opinions !!

I just got home from the game, there we’re quite a few empty seats around me in the East Stand.

It was a strange game. Some of our attacking play was breathtaking but our midfield conceded acres of space to Leipzig and I thought our back four was poor (even Dias). Still, another 6 goals and 3 points so no complaints from me.

Agree...attacking wise it was entertaining to watch but our midfield defensively were poor which impacted our defence with little or no protection. At times tonight reminded me of Keegan football.

It wasn't the most attractive of fixtures and as we have 3 home games on the bounce many fans are going to pick & chose
Football is a dear do nowadays & for some ,going to a game is a treat & not something they can do 20-30,times a season
Not all City fans are fanatics & will just go to the games that suits them best
For a couple to go to tonights game with match ,tickets, metro, taxi a couple of drinks & somet to eat you won't get much change out of £100
If Pep thinks the fans & attendance were poor tonight
He will have a meltdown when he sees the crowd against Wycombe
Welcome to the real world Pep
Where many City fans are on Zero hour contracts
Have to use food banks,
Their kids need to have free school meals
Many are struggling on Uneversal Credit
Some have to chose which bills to pay first
Many more fans would love to go but are either priced out or just skint
They must be spitting feathers at Peps remarks

Someone just posted that he had just got back and there were lots of spaces.

I'm not having a pop at anyone, just expressing my surprise based on the pre match discussion suggesting a near sell out.

A few empty seats dotted around big deal. Then we have the vast empty space with a handful of away fans in it. I'm not sure where this obsession with full houses started but it needs to fuck back off there. If 40,000 people turn up on a Wednesday night then I personally think that's a good showing

We turn up in league games. Loads of us have a disconnect with the champions League. Add on the absolute shit transport system in Manchester, especially after 6pm and the cost of going to every game in these financially challenging times and something has to give. We're not all wealthy people like Pep and the players he needs to give it a fucking rest.
Are you sure? Because when it's not against a Big 6 club or a European powerhouse you have to pay this local fans to show up and even if they do they are quite as a mouse and don't even have the courtesy of staying until the match is done.

The comment though is strange in the context of this match because I thought we actually had good attendance. He probably meant to comment on our usual library atmosphere

Spot on he needs to get in the real fucking world. Look around Europe, including his beloved Barcelona, empty seats everywhere. I've got a season ticket but i feel like swerving the Southampton game in protest. I won't of course, I'll be there just like I was at Maine Road in the old third division. Maybe him and the players could chip in some of their millions to fund cheaper tickets and transport. I won't hold my breath

Fuck off rag. Nobody pays anybody to turn up. We had over 50,000 against mighty Norwich and where I was stood the atmosphere was fine. How many live games do you go to?

Exactly, I don't remember this obsession with grounds being full every game in the 80s and 90s.

Peps done it now. A lot of football aggregators picking up on peps comment. Some Journalists to.

I had to walk from the ground back to Deansgate Square. Getting away from the place is impossible. I was up at 6 just home and back up again at 6. Not pleased with Peps comments.

He needs pulling up on it. I love the bloke but if I see him he's getting both barrels from me

thought it was an amazing turnout considering it’s midweek. plenty of noise where i was sat as well. pep can piss off. maybe if the tickets wasn’t so expensive more people would turn up!
