RB Leipzig (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Our defence has turned to shite. Both central defenders are playing like amateurs. Been like that for weeks now. I know they ran us ragged in the first half tonight but the display of the majority of our team in coping with that was very worrying.
They didn't run us RAGged first half, we just played about as bad as it's possible for the team to play.

Dreadful first half but pep worked his magic in the break and we looked a different side for the second 45, the change's were inspired and timely…

I thought Phil, Lewis, and Doku were outstanding, I particularly thought Lewis really shone in that MF role tonight, pinging balls all over the place in those last 20 mins…

Special mention for Haaland, he looks hungry and was absolutely on every single half chance….fastest to 40 goals in CL history…take a bow

The first half was one of the worst I have seen in the last few years. Awful. Two dreadful goals and Dias lucky not to get sent off. Akanji and Rodri had a mare too.

Second half once Doku and Alvarez came on, it all changed although we were still a bit sloppy and it is concerning how easy teams create chances against us.

Alls well that ends well.

and Rico has pace - long way to get to Gundog's level, but what potential the young man has - could see him playing against Spuds

Rico Lewis is nineteen. Nineteen. In his position, it is arguable that Rico is at least as developed as Phil was. It's ridiculous, really.

Granted. I'm certainly not the only one though!

:-)
Just don't get so annoyed when we are down. Against Leipzig we were always going to get a goal or two with our attack. The problem is we have been leaking goals at the other end but we have to trust Pep that he will sort things out. He did so tonight. It'll be interesting who he picks against Spurs.
