RB Leipzig (H) | Post Match Thread

Just saw the Ederson incident.
Hardly touched the guy.The guy was anticipating the challenge and was ready to fall before any contact was made.

After a performance like that - to come on here and give it -

Red Card?
If
Could've
Fav"o"rs from the referee
Game into a state of disrepute
I don't think it's in City's best interest to win like this either
etc.

Just f"ck off.

Rejoice and drink it in, Amazing win last night and everybody that went will never forget the game,
Its a result business and all that counts is we are in the next round and job done,

Goals change the course of games, and when the first two goals are dubious, it's going to affect how the rest of the match plays out. If Leipzig could've kept a clean sheet until the break and Ederson had been shown the red card, who knows what might have happened.

Let me make this clear: City are a WAY better team. They are going to win this fixture 99 out 100 times, especially at the Etihad. But they shouldn't have received those favors from the referee. Leipzig were denied any real shot at this game because of him.

We saw how Milan and Inter went through by digging in and playing ultra defensively (albeit against worse teams). Had a similar referee been in charge of their games, they wouldn't have had a chance.
Such refereeing performances bring the game into a state of disrepute. I don't think it's in City's best interest to win like this either.

In short: Congrats on your advancement. Massive performance. But I don't want to hear you guys ever complain about refs again.
You think one soft penalty erases all the bad officiating we get? If you don’t want to hear us complain then fuck off to an arse forum. Simple.

Sorry to not reply sooner but I injured myself when I fell off my chair laughing. When you say 'Leipzig were denied any real shot at this game because of him' you are right in a way. However it was down their shit team that they only managed one shot on target. They might be third in their league and since the world cup have won more points than anyone else in the division but we made them look like a Championship side from the beginning. So can I suggest you stop trying to wind people up and get back to watching shit Thursday night football and may I remind you, that competition is for teams not good enough for the CL and the FA Cup carries more importance.

Like others have suggested, I think there's a real blueprint for the rest of the season in this game. Stones and Ake both drifting into midfield when needed and sitting back as a rock solid back four of centrebacks when needed is one of those Pep tinkering master plans that looks so obvious when it works that you wonder why teams haven't been playing like that forever. Bernie and Grealish pressing, energy all over midfield, and then, suddenly, us realizing that we don't need to score perfectly crafted dainty little goals with Haaland on the pitch. That team looked like a fucking battering ram last night, full of energy, power, aggression, strength: like a heavyweight that could throw a knockout punch at any time rather than a featherweight boxing a perfect fight and winning on points of last season. All the tinkering and Cancelo drama and working things out, let's hope it sticks because there was loads to like last night.

Fuck off you patronising condescending arsenal tit. It was a pen, harsh but under the current rules it’s a pen(and you didn’t mention the blatant pen we weren’t given at the end of the first leg you nosey selective prick). As for Ederson it was a foul and a yellow card, as there were loads of covering defenders, never a red. Arsenal have had one bad decision (a marginal one v Brentford) and we heard about it ad nauseum for weeks. The number of arsenal posters we get in here, obsessed with us, you are playing well but let’s see how mentally strong you are over the rest of the season, especially Mad Mikel. Now fuck of back to your ashburton army, I was there the other week, how intimidating are they?!
