Re: Kompany's red card and appeal? (merged)

Those who submitted the appeal are far more likely to know the ins and outs of the case, and likelihood of success than us, so while understanding your cyncism, it's not a lost cause otherwise we wouldn't have appealed in the first place......remember there is a risk that they can extend the punishment for "frivolous appeals". There have been some suggestions that Foy may have accepted he made a mistake. We don't know how accurate these are.

That was probably the worst sending off decision I have ever seen. That wasn't even a foul let alone a red card!

I like Mancini's reaction to the match yesterday and agree 100%. The fact that City fought and got the edge in the second half shows mental toughness. This is a blessing in disguise. The team will be even more determined to win the league now.

Mancini:
"Despite losing the game at Etihad Stadium, Mancini revealed his belief that the manner of his side's performance after they went down to ten men will stand them in good stead over the remainder of the Premier League season, believing the league leaders have gained a psychological edge over the side three points behind them.

''This evening is important for the league," the former Inter Milan boss noted. ''Now I think we can win the league because of the character we showed.

I know football's emotive but we're a sensible organisation; we must have done our home work before making this appeal.

An organisation like ours must have individuals who can look at this objectively and then make a decision accordingly. That's why I think we must stand a very, very good chance of being successful.

Just watched the reply again:Wellbeck's even more annoying than Anderson. He's nodding his head and agreeing with the decision but you can tell he hasn't got a clue what's going on. I've listened to his post match interviews and his infant diction and distracted thoughts are similar to Rooney's

How bad was Phill Jones?

Come on City

The psyschological edge is important. And so is the cleared fixture schedule.

On the negative side are the possible suspensions and injuries we are picking up. I'd rather have Kompany in the team, than a slight increase in the collective determination and pride of the team

I'm trying to remember - will we have FA Cup weekends off now or will be play PL fixtures rearranged if the opposition is out of the cup now?

It'll be good if an FA Cup weekend falls after a Europe League match for us.

Who was the fourth official? Looking at the video Foy had his head down listening on his headset then he blew his whistle and gave Kompany the red! He was told to give it!!
