reading tickets selling fast {merged}

Its turned into a joke to be honest, 90 mins away from Wembley, by the way I am a SC holder and can't go to the Semi anyway, and we can't sell 44500 tickets. Fu@k me, forget a bigger ground, I travel 200 mile rd trip every game and if can't fill it with just fans from Manchester for a game like this well its poor to say the least. I have relocated from 308 and was disappointed we didn't open the 3rd tier but you can now see why we have some good marketing people. We may think we can sell out week in week out but this proves we can't.
Funny old thing if we get to say Dublin we may have 90k fans that attend everyweek.

Do City have 44,500 loyal fans?

In all honesty I reckon we have a 25,000 hardcore loyal fanbase and have done for many many years.

I too have had several texts through in relation to my seat for the Reading game, the first two correspond with the seat I have purchased for that game, the third although saying Reading correspond with my seat for the Kiev game. I'll seat where it says on my purchase history.

I'm a Season Card holder but haven't bought (many) Cup/EL tickets with it this season, even though I have attended all but one game (inc Leics & WBA away) but sometimes via cash sale or a mate's ticket... It's complicated and I'm not going into the details here, but basically it means we can share the cost of the tickets which atm is more important than any loyalty points that are on offer... If I can't get a ticket for a final, then even though I'll be gutted, so be it.

I've got a ticket for Sunday but again haven't been able to buy it via my SC. (No credit until weekend so mate's been down today to get them on general sale)

Basically, I wouldn't assume that if SC holders haven't bought tickets via their SC, then they won't be going. Not everyone obsesses after the loyalty points because there's a lot of us who will never catch up with the old regulars and probably reason that if tickets are available and I want to go, then one will materialise, one way or another.

Pretty sure we've got over 30,000 ST holders now

i take it we have always closed sides of the ground at a whim in the past - say for instance when we were at maine rd?

Over 3k on it I hear

doesn't make you "loyal", just means you have money in your pocket come june/july and fancy guaranteeing a seat, and as seen by the numerous empty seats at most home games, some clearly are not loyal.

I agree and never said loyal.

The last time we had an FA Cup Q/F at City was at home to West Ham, and the crowd was 39,357 with 6,000 West Ham in the South Stand

So even with 4 days to the game, there are a lot more City fans going this time, and this season the sole focus is not the FA Cup.

Conclusion: Stop complaining about poor FA Cup crowds. Our crowds are up in every competition

I don't understand why so many seasoncard holders are not interested in a competition which offers us a chance to win a trophy, but it has always been that way.

no I know you didn't, i just didn't know if that was what Balti was inferring, i just quoted the last post.

I'm one of the first on the 3k "signed up on the first day the waiting list came out and then took the bonus options to guarantee being at the front of the queue" really I go to most home games anyway i'm only getting a seasoncard next season hopefully to guarantee a seat over the next few years if I go to uni and so I can build up my points over 2k and hopefully get to cup finals eventually, without season cards it's gonna be impossible.

Correct.

Loyal diehards turn up to Wednesday 6pm kick offs.
Loyal diehards turn up to a Notts County replay which is on tv.
Loyal direhards turn up to a Leicester City replay which is on tv.
Loyal diehards turned up watching the crap served up pre Xmas when we were in the 3rd Division.

Incidentally, I do not regard myself as a loyal diehard (didn't attend the replays and won't be going to a 6pm kick off), although i am season ticket holder of 25 consecutive years.

Well from the amount of people who tell me they were at St James Park on the final day in 1968,we must have taken 350,000 fuckers all the way to Geordieland !!

There are 10s of thousands of tickets for Cup Finals. If we ever get to one, you wont have a problem.

I hope so, I can remember watching the Gillingham play off in my living room with my parents as a kid, even though I wasn't there I've always wanted to go to Wembley with City, never thought I'd see us get there for decades a couple of years ago, but now with the changes to our club it's a possibility and I'm buzzing for it.

the truly loyal ones go to as many games that they are able, according to their circumstances, wherever it may be. imo

I am certainly not in that category these days as the lad and I don't do many aways together yet, but like many I have been in that category in the past. Too long ago to get me any extra loyalty points though!! perhaps I should complain ;-)

Maybe club will use selling criteria like the following to start the panic of the season
Ticket holders who don't attend cup matches.
16th march All home cup games plus 4000 points
18th march all home cup games plus 3000 points
19TH march all home cup games plus 2000 points
21st march 6000 plus points

22nd march 5000 plus points
Etc etc

How the comfy would panic

Alright, how does that effect a seasonticket holder like myself who has been to nearly every away game this season plus every cup game except Leicester at home due to work commintments? Do I miss out on a semi-final ticket jsut because I had to work that one night? It will never work like that. loyalty points are there for a reason, although it wouldnt surprise me if City messed up the whole system themselves..

That goes down as one of the best days of my life. And the longest and most tiring. Started with a dawn trip to Piccadilly train station, and ended up with a beautiful train ride back happily contemplating life back in the big time of the Championship.

Best bit was walking back to Wembley Tube station with a crushed and ecstatic City crowd still in a state of disbelief.
