I'm going to repost what i wrote in the match day because it's relevant to what we suffered tonight. I would imagine many of us some thar line up and thought it was a mistake and so it sadly proved.

It was a ridiculous lineup especially given the pace of Madrid and our high line that we persist in playing in spite of every team having sussed it out and anybody with a bit of pace in their side exploiting it time after time.
Nunes whos been arguably our best player benched, O'Reilly who's been our best midfield player shunted back to left back and Kus put st right back where he hardly plays, leaving a slow midfield of two, Rodri and Bernardo.
We have a plodding out of form Haaland upfront and Semenyo who's not technically gifted enough for the highest level. A passenger in Savhino who has incredibly been picked in a huge game based on 60 minutes against Newcastle, when hes been piss poor in every other game. All these changes have disrupted any sembelence of rhythm we've been building up and against top class wingers like Madrid have it was suicide. We'll be lucky not to concede more in the second half as we now have to chase the game.

With our impending exit from the CL, there is now no excuse for not reeling in Arsenal for the league title. Then again, I wouldn't be that shocked to see that lot drummed out themselves by Leverkusen. I hope for a positive reaction from our manager and players for the final this weekend.

Which will now significantly impact our spending ability in the summer to bring in the talent level we need.

Pep was the best manager in the world. Just like managers before him, he is past it. He should’ve been sacked after our ridiculously horrendous form last year. He survived with the caveat that he will be the man to turn this team around. Here we are again, with a team that shits the bed against teams like Forest, Spurs, United, Bodo, Real Madrid’s C team, and more….

Bodo would have battered Real here.

And yet we’re second in the league with everything to play for, in one cup final already and still in the other 2 competitions.

Don't think much went for us tonight. One class player and a couple of brain farts cost us.

For a man with so much experience, Pep got sucked in by the galacticos absence and completely unbalanced the team. We play our normal game, we get a better result.

As daft as it sounds...a full strength RM and we'd probably have beaten them. Their lack of ego's and selfish primadonnas made them a better team. They worked harder than any RM I've ever seen and pressed us to fuck.

Still fancy us to turn this round. That Donna penalty save has given us a sniff.

Hard not to Praise Valverde today, he showed more guts and fighting spirits then the hole city team, he was the player that stepped up and lead the team that way KDB, Kompany could do, we don’t have that type of player now. Very poor displays from the city players today no one showed any quality today. Semenyo and Ghuei is not good enough to play these type of games yet,
And to play Savinho is just a big question i don’t even want to talk about our set pieces they are just horrible

But I choose to salut Valverde today it just sucks we don’t have that kind of player in the team, the perfect Bernardo Silva Replacement

I agree with what Sam Lee just said. In these games you keep it tight in the first leg. We did the opposite and played wide open in the midfield.

We invited them onto us. Crazy stuff.

The talk of us being favourites must have got in Pep’s head, Exeter City they ain’t

I've felt like, over the past month, despite our result versus Forest, we were beginning to hit our stride. Our second-half performances have been good, etc., which is what makes Pep's team selection and the performance as a whole so disappointing.

you cant play doku and semenyo in a front 3 - just gives up too much control. our best teams the wingers didnt lose it. it got recycled at worst and the opposition were crushed by relentless possession. now we just play like every other team giving them the ball back every 30 seconds.
