Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Boooo, fuck off.
Another CL campaign tossed away.
All started with the Leverkusen team selection which had a big say on us finishing 8th and getting Real. Then the irony, we repeat a diabolical team selection v Real.
The last 18 months under Pep have become tiresome especially now he is working with a squad of average players and doesn’t seem to trust any of them.
Time to go at end of season.

Men vs boys. Pep had a terrible game with his line up and formation and with his unwillingness to change things as we were getting torn apart.
Haaland can go for me. Absolute no show from him.
All of them looked outclassed. Doku's decision making was shite. Pep has probably fucked O'Reilly's confidence a good bit for leaving him out to dry at LB. Nunes dropped ? Why ? They eased off totally after the missed penalty. Good luck selling tickets for the 2nd leg City. You can blame it on Pep when there's tons of empty seats.

Weird, weird game.

We didn't play a 3-0 defeat at all, I don't think. Pep definitely deserves criticism for leaving the midfield so empty but we created enough chances to get at least something. Doku and O'Reilly both unlucky not to score or create something.

Thought it was a relatively even game in terms of territory and the number of chances both teams created, Madrid's few chances were just slightly better quality because they came from mad sucker punches. And Valverde had an outrageous night individually.

Tie isn't over, Pep just needs to rewatch tonight's game and realise that Rodri on his own and no Nunes left us exposed to the counter. A rigid 4-2-3-1 and the defence 10 yards deeper and we'll be in with a chance. Unsure if he'll do it, though, because Pep does what Pep does. Oh well.

Only the second time in ten years I say this but…

That was all on Pep…. and he knows it.

Too emotionally involved.

Unacceptable yet again, lucky it was only 3 against their second string. Fucking sick of these pep brain farts and lack of changes. This team just isn't improving enough, we have the odd good gane which is then followed by another shit show. Nobody wants or knows how to shoot we couldn't even pass the ball boringly today. Tie over

Watched PSG v Chelsea in the second half. Both PSG and Chelsea attacking at will, pace, slick passing, using the wings, etc. Only Chelsea’s collapse at the end saw them get beat 5-2. If Enrique becomes available next season or the season after, City should sign him as our next Manager.

As angry as I am at that (and yes it was on Pep’s lineup & tactics), a significant win at the Etihad to progress is not out of the question…however, he needs to learn that there are players who will bleed for the club and those that EXPECT a place in the starting 11. One set was on the bench the other, on the field. Switch them round and it’s a different result (look at Newcastle at weekend). ‘Pep out’ and all this bollocks is a knee jerk thing to say, we are still in all 4 completions with half a squad and less than 12 months into a rebuild

Just need a 3-0 next week 'n whip on pens!

Tonight has seen another twenty minute episode of 'Tyoical City'. We hold our own for the first twenty mins and then the next twenty is characteristic of some of the most comical efforts Hough End would have seen. The essence of that second twenty minutes is inexplicable. I can't understand how players who kept NUFC down to one and then came back with a masterclass could produce a shambolic twenty mins. How could players 'n manager legislate for it? Fuck knows!
