Prioritise the two domestic cups now as the Madrid tie is over

Pick the strongest team for Wembley and play everybody else in the 2nd leg v Madrid

Arsenal are going to have to play their strongest team v Levurkusen so doing this would vastly improve our chances of winning the carabou cup
For once I wouldn't care if Savinho played the Madrid return, if it meant he was nowhere near Wembley.

I’ve said it a million times now…the future, esp in English football, is size, speed and strength.
I gave that a like because I agree, not because I'm happy with the way the game is going.
We were bullied off the ball by Spurs in the first home game of the season and our midfield has been bullied regularly since then.

The game always evolves and not always in a good way. It was dominated by defensive physical football in the 80s and the crowds collapsed everywhere. The current trend, epitomised by Arsenal and VAR, is killing entertainment and the smaller gifted players. One problem is the over use of fitness analytics and tech which is eroding the creative spark at some clubs. The players look very huge and muscle-bound.

They’re not the same player at all but they are an awful pairing.

Guehi is miles better on the ball and faster to the point where he’s a totally different player. However he’s not quite Khusanov bail-Dias-out-every-time fast an he’s not experienced at this level.
Unsure where this Guehi being good on the ball has come from. Every game he is passing to the other team. He has a rep as been a good passer so it will take a while for people to realise he isnt one.

Have also heard the IBD/colitis rumours for some time now. I'm not even ITK and I never get info, but I've heard too many things from too many people who don't know each other. A work colleague of mine who runs a United supporters club told me Phil was dealing with "the same thing Fletcher had", then a few weeks after that my driving instructor said he'd just started teaching a lad who was "Foden's new chef, part of a big regime change". Neither of them know each other or would have any reason to make this stuff up. Have also made a few enquiries of my own in my spare time - just cos I have gastro illnesses as well and I'm curious about this stuff - and have been told that the IBD/colitis rumours aren't false. Now you've said this. Phil's weight loss is quite noticeable now and I'm seriously worried for him.
If these rumours are true, I really feel for Foden and let's hope he gets better asap.

But his lack of touches, his not his fault, if the team doesn’t pass it to him???

The amount of times the ball over the top or pushed down the side of their Centre Half’s was on last night and not made was criminal!!!

But that’s not his fault!!!

Use him more and give him more chances??!!

It’s not rocket science :0)
True up to a point. The CF must move as well!

Dias is much better than you describe him. I can't understand the source of animosity towards him amongst some of our fans.

Dias was the only CB at the club who was a regular starter in all 4 seasons in which we won the title and many other trophies. The only one. Guehi hasn't achieved enough so far to be considered better. I hope he surpasses Dias, that would be great for the club. But the disrespect Dias gets amongst portions of the fanbase is incredible.

Tbf Nico Gonzalez basically played that game with his arm in a sling.

The few examples of comebacks in the CL after being 3+ goals down in the 1st leg involve only big clubs, maybe partly due to their misplaced confidence.

Deportivo La Corunha lost the 1st leg at Milan 4:1 in 03/04 but won the 2nd 4:0.

Famously, Barca lost 4:0 at PSG and then won 6:1.

In 17/18, Barca won 4:1 vs Roma and got beaten 3:0 in the 2nd leg.

Infamously, Barca lost 4:0 at Anfield after winning the 1st leg 3:0.

So, shit like that happens. I expect a difficult game for Real at the Etihad.

Thanks for that. Needed something to cheer me up!
Interestingly, those examples all happened when the away goals rule was in place. Theoretically it makes our task not quite as difficult now that it’s no longer a factor.

Let's not use the word logic when it's clear you've little experience with the literal meaning.

-I am usually in the match thread.

-I am aware and have stated that the match threads have been increasingly negative prior to yesterday.

-Yesterday's match thread was more negtive than usual.

~It is not at all "somewhat strange" that I would enter with that knowledge especially given the fact that it looked on paper like a match that City may have done well in thereby potentially diminishing some of the usual suspects negativity.

~It also makes logical sense that I would choose to leave.

I won't apologize for not feeling obliged to subject myself to the negativity.

As it refers to the application of basic logic to my future actons - my rationale indicates an intent or at least a perculating hypothesis as to my likely choice relative to matchday threads.

In the least it will temper future responses as I realize there's little hope for the willfully and perpetually miserable: especially those with whom an attenuation of intellect is required to effectively communicate.
Are you Humphrey Appleby?

And what does this post

Cherki, to replace the void!?? Do me a favour.
You seem to have a low opinion of Cherki. Why ? He is 21/22 years old and looks to be on his way to being a superstar. Don't forget we got Kevin at the age of 26. I feel sorry for you if you can't see this super talent at such a young age.

Kevin definetly wasn´t 26 ,when he arrived. Just hit 24.
