Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

Claudio Bravo with a long kick.

Goalkeeping is mainly about making saves. Ederson benefits from being in a team that dominates possession, so he doesn't get exposed to many shots.

He'd be a joke character at a mid-table club. He's very lucky to be playing under Pep.

You are severely underrating him, I've seen Ederson set a lot of goals/movement up.

Not really sure how he was supposed to save either of the shots they had at goal last night...

They were both from a few yards out, very few keepers would have stopped them.

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
In a few moments of madness the underlying fragility of the team was exposed.
We have got away again most of this Season without a striker but constantly winging it and you will eventually get found out.
A lack of aerial dominance, pace and positional authority in defending our box by central defenders and keeper will come home to roost against top teams - and it was.
People bang on about our squad and yet in this key game we end up bringing on a guy with a worse back than mine, a 37 year old veteran ,two lightweight midfield/attackers and a couple of fullbacks. After that bench we had a bunch of young lads Pep wouldn't even play against Brentford.
RM ,Liverpool etc have impact subs who come on and change games we simply don't.
Thinking just adding Haaland to the mix is short sighted ,there are many underlying weaknesses stopping us being the best.

The old rags and dippers trope.

Grow up. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them 'entitled'.

Ederson is a nightmare.
And how long have y

Ederson is a nightmare.
And you've been posting about him being a nightmare for how long? Let me guess just yesterday and today as part of your tirade into numerous other of our top players e.g. KDB just because you're angry we got beat. Buy a punchbag or something if you need to get rid of your anger.

We've already bought Alvarez and hopefully have Haaland coming in and i'm sure we'll buy a midfielder and left back, is that enough?

You've also said that Kev should have reduced role, so surely Bernie will play a significant part in our future!?

Also, even if he does want to leave, who can afford to buy him?
Very fair comment. I'd be inclined to balance KDB and Foden's games next season. Both have been overplayed.

Haaland may not come yet. Hopefully he will, but I'd like to see some ink put to paper first! Alcarez and Haaland as a partnership? That's sure to make Pep uncomfortable, and may not work out for a while. These things take time.

Reece James, Decline Rice, James Ward-Prowse, Haaland, Alvarez... that's a nice group imo.

86th minute, Somehow Mendy blocks the ball on the line and somehow it misses Foden, then Courtois makes an amazing save with his feet. Small margins again go against us. Madrid score with there first two attempts on target in injury time and then Madrid get the inevitable penalty. Then Courtois makes an amazing save from Foden and Ferna just cant wrap his foot around it to equalise. The smallest of margins.

We player really well, but the injuries to Kev and Walker cost us, yes Walker was a gamble but it worked and the subs were the right subs at the right time. We controlled the game and somehow we lost the game, that is football and its why its such a thrilling game.Yes its another disappointment in the CL for us and again i reiterate it was the smallest of margins that went against us. Its not the first time its happened and it wont be the last I fear.

Yes we can complain about the referee but overall i thought he had a good game apart from the yellows Casimero deserved and it was a penalty. You have to admire Real though, they have now done this to PSG, Chelsea and to us, maybe the belief they have that the trophy is theirs plays a part.

Now we have to pick ourselves up and win the league, that is going to be hard, the lads gave everything last night and it will be deflating. its an examination of character and as long as the lads show the same character as they did they last, we will win it.
what a very good post. I agree with all other than the ref. He wasn't disastrous but he wasn't good either. The game and individuals can be dissected till kingdom come but it is down to fine margins and we were extremely unlucky to be on the end of a freak result rather than winning 2-0.

Good lord! You come up with so much bullshit! Enough already!
