Makes a change for Pep to end a crucial European game with an odd line up rather than start with one. Same result though.
 
I wonder how it will impact us mentally for the rest of the season. Hopefully it will galvanise us to ensure we don’t drop any more points…but it could go the other way….

It would be a travesty if we don’t win anything this season.
 
To manage the game so well, to then have zero game management when you concede 1, 2 then a break before giving a stupid penalty away. Absolutely criminal and on pep and the players. Bring us lots of joy but don’t have know how to kick us in the bollocks in this competition. Thank god we threw the fa cup away again ey…… furious tonight.

3 mins was an absolute joke added on and the bent ref blew on 2mins 52 seconds of a minimum 3. Should have been at least 7.

Our finishing once again cost us, you cannot miss the chances we miss and expect to win the CL. Its been a weakness for a while now. And do we need to address Ederson, so many shots on target results in a goal.
Awful way to go out, just the PL left now but looks like we are sending out a patched up and unfit team these days where Dippers have a full squad.

But my god, that ref tonight. You cannot argue there is a clear bias against us, is most weeks home and abroad. Following on from the awful officials at Leeds.

Agree. We have to take officiating (which is terrible) out of games though, and we shouldn’t have to

Show them trips to Colchester,Lincoln and Southend and Macclesfield…. I understand where your coming from also . When we stop being typical city I’ll never know.
 
If, come the end of the season we are lifting the Premier League trophy, then I wont care less about this match. But at the moment, this is an extremly bitter pill to swallow. I mean, Im struggling to give Madrid any credit, we baught this on ourselves in typical City Champions League fasion. Missed chances, 2 penalties, shit ref, not finishing games off, late goals, the usual stuff. God knows how this will affect the players and staff, hopefully it will spur them on for the remaining league games.

Stop it, last year a shit team selection cost us the final. This year the game management was poor. Let's stop pushing the blame outward and look INWARD for the answer.
 
Conceding 6 goals in a Champions League semi final is not going to win you the trophy so we can't complain. I'm trying to think whether we have scored late to win an important game against a decent team, or even come back from the dead like they did. I can't think of one instance. It all points to a mentality issue in some players to me.
 
We have the best team in the world and a fuckjng awful weak bottling mentality

Its why we won't win the Champions league

Week in week out is our strong suit we have the best team in the world

This squad needs gutting.
None of the 5 subs (Grealish excluded only because he's new) should be anywhere near a CL semi-final. Is Sterling even a footballer at this point???

Played like pussies for 70 minutes, then had some of our swagger back and then choked like no other team does in this competition. We are the biggest bottlers in the CL over the last 10 years and we just have to drink it in. Hopefully it changes with Haaland, he lives for these moments.

It hurts, because I genuinly thought we would do the job. But as more time went on and we looked like absolite fucking shit I just couldn't care. Yet again we froze under pressure. Liverpool would have been licking their lips watching that if we had gone through. Couple of months ago I thought this was Pep's best City. Business end of the season and they have proved me wrong. Should still have enough to win the league but I'm not confident at all.

We even gifted the scousers the FA Cup for this. What a farce
