Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

Thing is the players know this from the Athletico game so what happened last night!
Belief was none existent. Our soft centre was exposed again last night. A few of the players will have no complaints about being moved on.

Pep creates the team but this competition is won by individuals. Far too many weak players. I am grateful for all they have achieved but it might be time to look for players with different traits. Also some of them are just not good enough to win this competition. It’s is what it is. Get the big Norwegian lad in and it will be a step in the right direction.

Agree with that but theres no way the club will get all that this summer.

Players will likely leave too and those spots will be unfilled.
We get Haaland and hopefully that changes everything. We have missed so many chances during the two games and Haaland will hopefully change all that. We win the league now and then the summer will be spectacular.

Cancelo is a fucking liability at right back. What the fuck was he thinking for both of those goals?? That pass out of the back for the second was a joke tbh.

The Scouse rats will beat that Madrid team with ease with the amount of chances they cough up and I can't help but think that last nights shitshow could yet cost us the league as well.

Typical city alive and well
Typical city wouldn't be going for a 4th league title in 5 years, Typical city wouldn't be anywhere near the champions league never mind feeling gutted about being knocked out in the semi's by real Madrid, we are a different animal, it should hurt we got knocked out last night, but Typical city is dead

In the cold light of the day….the starting eleven is the one picked by most of us as our strongest available….but it was the finishing eleven that cost us….but with a 2 goal cushion who wouldn’t have made those changes at the end.

We do need to reinvest in the squad but also start trusting some of the youngsters…..I would much rather see Palmer coming on than Sterling who has been great for us in the past but probably needs to leave.

I don't agree, in the CL typical city is alive and well.

Typical city is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, we did that last night and we've slowly but surely been doing it in the league since the turn of the year. Typical city, just at a higher level.

Get rid of Pep
Sell half the team

Some people need reality check

I'm going to get that inflatable banana out of the loft and feel all nostalgic

Agree, Pep needs to start putting some more faith in the young players.

Look at Madrid last night they were throwing loads of young players on.

Bringing Fernandinho on was bizzare.

Sacking the manager is a bit of an over reaction but I do know where you’re coming from and I agree with most of it.

Managers have been sacked for a lot less though and I don’t think it’s healthy that Guardiola is held up as a kind of god by the club and fans who is beyond criticism.
I would say that every manager has been sacked for a lot less :)

If "Pep" was a pilot he would not be sacked, he would be dead. You are provided with a multi-million pound aircraft your job is to manoeuvre it through its flight with a smooth landing. You have your co-pilot, stewards, and back-up crew. Auto pilot is fine until you meet difficult weather conditions, technical hitches, mechanical failure, then your skills are tested.Landing in the sea or field alongside the runway is not recommended.

I see a lot of overacting here which is understandable. Sacking Pep is farcical. Take a min and look at the bigger picture. The club is fighting it out with the best clubs in world football and last night we were handed a very harsh lesson. The players are not good enough when the game swings against us. The record from coming behind is a big concern.

They should have controlled the last few minutes far better than what we witnessed which was a total collapse. Not sure how we fix this issue tbh. Going behind in a game or conceding late goals without knowing how to regroup and stop the tide is a fragility we need to overcome.
