FFS we were just playing a much better opposition than usual.

Thats fair enough but that shouldn't mean the basics we do so well go out of the window. Misplacing 5 yard passes, chewing the ball and getting caught on it, poor first touches etc. Im not expecting us to open them up every time we have the ball, but I do expect us to still do the "easy" things to a high standard.

I thought we were absolutely awful by our standards so all in all 1-1 was a great result.

Completely disagree on your first point. Your standards are ridiculous. It sounds like you want perfection. We played really well and I don’t expect us to batter a really good side like Madrid.

Means Vini has zero defensive responsibility too. They’ll try and soak everything up with the two defensive wide men and sucker punch us - makes sense for them to play like this really especially after Rudiger playing Haaland well.

Pep needs to roll the dice and play one of foden/mahrez on the right to give Alaba something to really think about.

Going to be a very intriguing tactical battle - just hope we can manage to get haaland in the game a little bit more.

I don't expect us to batter them either, but I also don't expect us to give the ball away so much under little pressure, have so many poor first touches, play so many poor final balls etc. Maybe absolutely awful was slightly harsh but aside from the opening 20 mins I thought we were poor.
