It's because it is unusual for a team that has had so much success the previous year to have hunger to do it again the following year. Its also reverse sociology, to get the team more determined to do it. He's a clever man, our brilliant manager.

It's not only about hunger but also about being able to cope with more injuries following a physically draining season. Liverpool had big problems in the season following their attempts to win the quadruple, to the extent they finished 5th in the league...

I don’t know how many teams in history were fighting for the Treble in April after winning it the previous season. Guess no more than 2 or 3.

Edit: Barca could win a double Treble in 15/16 but lost from Atletico in the CL in April. They won the other two competitions.

I think he’s talking more about the hunger and desire of the entire squad to ‘go again’ which is an under-rated facet of our team.

You just need to look at the drop-off Napoli have had this season after winning the league - struggling for any European football next season let alone challenging for the title.

We as fans, alongside the media and other teams fans can take it for granted what we do week in week out, and we shouldn’t. The culture of the club, the mentality of the manager, the players and the staff is incredible.

We absolutely achieve what we think we should achieve in the main - eg we are the best team in the CL group and we win it comfortably (but look at united - bottom when realistically they should be finishing second in that group).

As soon as we hit the knock outs there are no guarantees - we’re all confident that we’ll get the job finished tomorrow but real could put us out without doubt if we aren’t on it or fortune is against us.

The bottom line is that this group of players is incredibly special, roll on tomorrow evening!

Attempting to win something is no big deal, doesn’t every club in Europe start each season with the aim of winning the quadruple

Actually winning the treble or a proper double (one which involves winning the league) is infinitely more taxing
