Great performance. Didn't catch the first half, but in the second, excellent from de Bruyne, Danilo, Stones, Sterling. Great finish from Diaz. Mangala surprisingly good, I thought - couldn't see much difference between him and Otamendi tbh, and a few good passes, too.
Enjoyed that!

The rags needed a penalty shootout to beat Real a few days ago. Obviously with more game time we are getting better.
Let's hope we start the season same as last but then kick-on and keep the momentum and win some trophies.

First time Mangala has looked like he had a ball at his feet rather than a hot coal. Could he save us £40+m on another centre half?

That answer is yes. And he should stay. I think he just might.

3 at the back hides defenders shortcomings by lessening the responsibility, it's why David Luiz at Chelsea all of a sudden looks like a great defender. Stones still has flaws, but this system suits him so much.

It also works for Mangala, and considering he's our only left-footed CB, I think we should keep him. He actually had some decent passes forward, he doesn't need to be a great ball playing CB, he has 2 other defenders for that, he just needs to be competent on the ball and be his usual bulldozing defender-self

And finally, it's only a friendly - nice result but doesn't mean much.

Foden worked really hard off the ball in the first half but struggled to get in the game when we had the ball. Still looks comfortable in his new surroundings. I think Diaz and Fiden will be in the squad this season.
