Real Madrid - Post Match Thread

Good confidence boost. I honestly thought we would loose all 3 games over there. We allways seem poor pre season in recent years with only half a squad. Pleasantly surprised to wake up to this score line.

That's the small time mentality that will stop us a collective from believing. The sooner we believe as whole that we can will the CL etc that energy will affect the team.

We really can win the Champions League. I'm so serious. Any team with a little bit of luck, preparation, and the oppurtunity can make big upsets in a knockout competitions.

I agree we CAN win the champions league and I think the team believe that too but to say we WILL based off a friendly is a bit of a stretch.

Anyway we should definitely take confidence from that performance rather than result as it shows the team is taking on Pep's ideas. The use of the full backs looked spot on and is just one of the many ways they can be used now we have athletes as well as technically good footballers available there.

Just need to wake up & tighten up at the back.

Everything looks geared to success INCLUDING THE KIDS but far too many elementary defensive mistakes. Pretty much every defender plus the keeper made one howler or more each.

Cut that down & we are in business. Walker looks fantastic. Shocked.

Keeper is miles better than anything we've had for eons. Again, just needs to tighten up.

I wish we weren't after Sanchez & just went with this.

I'd say do absolutely everything to get Mbappe and we're all set for this season.

Foden worked really hard off the ball in the first half but struggled to get in the game when we had the ball. Still looks comfortable in his new surroundings. I think Diaz and Fiden will be in the squad this season.
Jason Sancho could have made a massive mistake not signing a contract!
Cheers.
Saw the Diaz goal, pretty tasty stuff. Let's hope they get a few chances this season.

I thought Stones was great. Was it because he was in the center of a back 3? If so maybe that's the way to go more often.

I liked Mangala (and I hope stays). His passing wasn't very crisp - but he gets it to his teammate and it could improve with more games.

I have to say that Sterling was good when he came on and took his chance well.

Danilo was good too. Be interesting to see if in a few games time we are thinking he's a bit lackadaisical or whether he is fantastic. Just seems to have a natural flow to him that could divide opinion (like Nasri).

Ederson is a great addition.

Foden wasn't as involved but there wasn't as much space for him with our attackers almost getting in each other's way given we had the ball so much at times. Still great for him to start and I hope he starts a few more over the season.

And great to see the other kids too ... all did well.
