Real Madrid - Post Match Thread

Missed the first 25 minutes, but from what I saw - wow.

3-5-2 was very solid, I don't think we can play it every week as we need players like Sane in the team, but bloody nora what an option - can see us lining up like that in some very big matches.

Walker and Danilo are absolute quality, and both rapid.

Sterling looked back to his confident best.

KDB bossed it for large periods.

Stones looks a different player. Looks like a full pre season of training with Vinnie could be doing him a world of good. You can see that Pep is building the defensive side of our team around him. He's special.

Jesus and Kun linking up nicely.

Diaz looks like he's going to be a star.

If Mangala's first touch and passing were a. It better he could make a great backup option for us - genuinely don't understand how you can play with these players and not learn off them. He has so much potential. Physically a beast and a very good defender - I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

So excited for this season, and to think of the players still to come in!

The triangles. OH THE TRIANGLES!

Good performance. Some really encouraging signs.

No way is Mangala a Pep defender though. I could see his nerves on the ball. He's just not the type of defender that will fit unfortunately.

Stones was excellent. He has mistakes in him but he's always looking for a progressive pass. Absolute polar opposite to Mangala.

Considering that was only our second preseason I thought they looked really sharp.
I thought DeBruyne gradually got into the game & was running the show up until he went off.

Just need to wake up & tighten up at the back.

Everything looks geared to success INCLUDING THE KIDS but far too many elementary defensive mistakes. Pretty much every defender plus the keeper made one howler or more each.

Cut that down & we are in business. Walker looks fantastic. Shocked.

Keeper is miles better than anything we've had for eons. Again, just needs to tighten up.

I wish we weren't after Sanchez & just went with this.

I know it's only a preseason friendly, but it shows how Pep has got all the players playing the system well, the changes didn't affect the team performance, the youngster stepped in and looked as if they belonged.
No matter what the occasion, Real Madrid won't like being beaten by such a score line, friendly or not.
Biggest plus, the youngsters, after all the criticism City get, and the very recent Gary Neville comments, Pep can just point to this performance.
