Real Madrid Vs Manchester City Post Match Thread

Still can't get over Kompany bloody DUCKING under Ronaldo's shot. What the fuck was going on in his mind.

Kompany, captain or not, has been poor this season...2-1 up 4 minutes to go, chance of a lifetime and we then turn the next 6 minutes into an absolute comedy of errors in defence which mirrors what has gone on so far this season. Glad to see Joe fuming after the game, probably because he knew he should have saved their 2nd goal and what was Kompany doing ducking out of that shot from Ronaldo, Barry looked out of his depth at that level, no pace at all.
Good performances from Ya Ya, Edin, Clichy, Kolarov when he came on, Tevez worked hard. Gutted.

Did we really expect anything from this game? We made them sweat & work to win at home. This was a step up in our progress.

It's not the loss that upsets me. A 0-1 would be an understandable and respectable scoreline. It's the fact that we let in 3 goals in ~20 minutes that is worrying.

They were soft fucking goals too!
exactly. cheaply conceded goals. it should have stayed 1:1 at worst.

Looking at it another way, this could really kick us into gear now. Our performances haven't been good so far this season, but this defeat will have really hurt all the players and backroom staff. Bring on Arsenal.

Positives:

-Nastasic
-Scoring twice at the Bernabeu
-Yaya
-Dzeko

Boys we've come along way, the groups a marathon not a sprint.

Hear hear. Gutted by the way we lost, but what a game. We gave them a run for the money in the end. Very excited about the return match!

Gutted. Absolutely gutted.

Can't fault any of the players, all played well.

We went to the Bernabeu in the Champions League and nearly nicked it. How far have we come in ten years, blues? How far away did this seem under Ball and Royle? I look at the Bernabeu and think of the Gene Kelly Stand between the Kippax and the North, it almost seems a lifetime ago.

But this is our journey; a journey that few are privileged to undertake. We were there when we were battling Macclesfield at Moss Rose and we were there when battling Real at the Bernabeu.

I'm gutted that we've lost after being in front twice but such a performance at such a ground brings the whole takeover home.

This one result taken on it's own is gutting; but if you take it in its full context of the progress that we have made, then it's a marker. We aren't quite there yet. We're almost there, but not quite; a cake without a cherry.

We look at the investment in the club, we look at the new Academy project and the investment into youth like Nastatric (who was wonderful), and like Rodwell this year.

We went to the Bernabeu and make no mistake, we shit up Real Madrid.

Gutted about the result but this game has brought home all of the emotions after the takeover. In that game, the world of football stopped laughing at City and started taking notice. We will be back, we are here to stay. Fair play to Real for having the better of us on the day, but this fixture will soon be the norm around the Etihad.

This is the best I've ever felt after a loss.
