Rebuild

All our full backs, MDM, Silva, Dinho may have peaked. However, Pep's coaching team think they can still improve guys in their 30's.
Demichelis will go I am sure but he only features as 4th choice. We have probably young players who could replace him. Silva and Fernandinho have got years in them I hope.

But you don't do it one step do you.

Step 1. Catch Spurs and Leicester / Win the Premiership.

Replace Toure, and get the player used to Pep' methods. And let him find out who fits in, what the whole squad can do

Step 2. Move on from there

You don't normally do it in one step, no. But the fact that step one is catch Spurs and Leicester it shows how far we have fallen. I mean it's pretty depressing, right? Ideally we'd be wanting Pep to come in to help close the gap on Barca and Bayern but he's coming in now to close the gap on Leicester and Spurs. Personally I would try and do as much as a rebuild as we can in his first year because the other top clubs aren't going to stand still.

How we will line up next season, not necessarily in this formation but

--------------------------------Hart--------------------------
Sagna----------????????-----------------???????????--------?????????
-------------------------------???????????----------------------------
-----------------????????????------------Fernandinho-----------------
De Bruyne---------------------------------------------------Sterling--
----------------------------------Aguero------------------------------

Subs:
GK: ?????????????
Def: Otamendi
Def: Clichy/Zabaleta
Midfield: ??????????
Wing: Silva/Nasri/Garcia/?????
Striker: ??????/Kelechi

Injured:
Kompany

Probably gone:
Yaya

Hopefully gone:
Willy
Demichelis
Mangala
Kolarov
Fernando
Navas
Bony
Why would you want to sell Willy, Kolarov, Fernando or Navas.

Only players I'd be looking to let go are Bony and Toure. Mangala possibly, but he has another chance now to show what he can do.

Your obsession with getting rid of the one player that has proved he can play for Pep is amusing.

And no better time to make a splurge like that than when you have the one manager in the world who everyone wants to play for. Makes recruitment so much easier. I'm more convinced than ever that we're going to see a mad summer and an unrecognisable team next season.

We need to get sexy again. I said this the other day. The club has lost a lot of the momentum and sheen which came with the initial years of the 'project' (I fucking hate that word)

A narrative has been established in the last 18 months of a club which is a little frayed around the edges, lacking in zest and has hit a glass ceiling?

Pep's arrival does plenty to make us relevant again on a global stage but, make no mistake, miracle worker that he is, we need to exploit his reputation the absolute fullest in this upcoming summer window.

There are plenty of people who want to piss on Pep's bonfire and proclaim he's not all that. Giving him the players and numbers he needs, RIGHT NOW - REGARDLESS OF COST - will go a long way to take the club on again.

If we don't go 'all in', straight away, the expectation levels will swamp him and us, making it increasingly difficult to acquire what we need to get it right next year.

He'll get all the players he wants IMO and he'll yard the players he doesn't want. I'm not worried AT ALL about this summer. Remember how last summer felt big just because we got KDB and Raheem. This summer is going to feel galactic.

The squad is packed full of quality. A hole in midfield. Sort that and we could be very competitive without having to make wholesale change

Who else apart from Toure is past their best?

Zabba's legs have gone, Kolarov was never up to it. In fact, that's the more suitable category to determine the rebuild. I lump Navas, Bony, Mangala and Fernando in this.

I just waiting to see what you do when Pep keeps Nasri and Yaya and ditches Silva and the Ferns.
Vice versa. I like Nasri by the way. Don't mind if Toure stays as a squad player.

I don't think Zabba's leg have gone. He was never really quick. He'll go on and on. Kolarov is as good as ever though he does have the odd bad game, and when that happen it's really bad.
