i'm going to be controversial, i really don't like the top

I think it's horrendous and those photos from Flickr just confirm it. The new home kit is getting a lot of abuse but they really have managed to butcher this one.

Totally agree. I feel that the gold Etihad lettering really draws attention to it rather than the shirt itself, and unbalances the whole thing. It'd be better if it were white like the 09-10 black away shirt - gold Umbro logo looks great.

Really not keen on the sleeves. Gonna get a navy third shirt instead.

Hmmm .... saw this in the club shop on Market Street the other day. Not keen on the collar or the way the stripes run on the sleeves.

Think they've missed a great opportunity for a cracking kit.

i've heard this comment loads since they showed the kit and it really pisses me off

its not our version of milans kit, its our red and black striped away kit that we've had on and off for decades.

I apologise but I know red and black stripes as AC Milans Kit (as most people in the world do), a kit I love. So when I say I 'loved the AC Milan kit' you can assume I mean that as the highest of compliments and as someone else pointed out, we originally copied AC Milans to give us a winning mentality.

I perfectly understand your reasoning for ranting though and respect your opinion.

Wasn't a pop at you mate, just the whole milan thing, i think the official facebook pages comments riled me a bit, a lot of new fans seem to think its a new strip and drirect copy so maybe my fuse was short lol

I know what you mean about the facebook page though technically they are correct Big Mal did copy the Milan kit just it happened in the 60's!

As for the kit it's the best version since '00-01

Players generally don't wear long sleaves anymore though do they? Usually a short sleave with an "underarmour" style top underneath, which wouldn't be black and red striped. So I suppose it's a good idea having the all black lower arm so players wearing the long sleaves will look the same as the players wearing short sleaves with the under top on.

I pre ordered mine and my sons when it was first announced, it's not even arrived yet! anyone else in wythenshawe area not got theirs yet? spoke to girl I know who works at city store and she said I should have got it yesterday! not happy! kind of defeats the object of preordering really!
