Sorry if already posted but that is 1 of the worst refereeing performances I've ever seen imo that is corruption absolute joke
This is genuinely up there with the Chelsea-Barca CL farce.
In no way does simple incompetence explain *all* of those (non)decisions, especially when we now have VAR to supposedly identify “clear and obvious errors” by the on-pitch officials.
An apology is a ridiculous response—Brighton should be 1 point off Spurs, not 7 points behind. And, regardless, this is what, PGMOL’s 20th apology this season for VAR or refereeing errors?
As I have said many times before, you can only claim something like this as a “mistake” a few times; after it is repeated over and over again it becomes a pattern of behaviour. And once it reaches the level of frequency we are seeing now—with seemingly nothing being done to prevent it or to address concerns of impropriety from players, staff, and fans of the clubs being negatively impacted—it becomes functionally corruption (even if no one intentionally means each decision to unduly influence the outcome of matches).
Once or twice is a mistake.
Five times is incompetence.
Twenty times is corruption.
This needs a legitimate investigation for match fixing. We shouldn’t just move on to the next match, waiting for them to do this again.
