Sorry if already posted but that is 1 of the worst refereeing performances I've ever seen imo that is corruption absolute joke

It really is quite shocking esp when you see it on a real like that. I like the fact that they have also included the fouls which did not receive cards too. I'd be fuming had we been cheated out of points from that game. I feel peeved off for them, apologies from the supposed powers that be will mean nothing.

Did we ever receive an apology for the Rashford offside or was it just a matter of Webb telling Neville that it wouldn’t stand in the future?

This is genuinely up there with the Chelsea-Barca CL farce.

In no way does simple incompetence explain *all* of those (non)decisions, especially when we now have VAR to supposedly identify “clear and obvious errors” by the on-pitch officials.

An apology is a ridiculous response—Brighton should be 1 point off Spurs, not 7 points behind. And, regardless, this is what, PGMOL’s 20th apology this season for VAR or refereeing errors?

As I have said many times before, you can only claim something like this as a “mistake” a few times; after it is repeated over and over again it becomes a pattern of behaviour. And once it reaches the level of frequency we are seeing now—with seemingly nothing being done to prevent it or to address concerns of impropriety from players, staff, and fans of the clubs being negatively impacted—it becomes functionally corruption (even if no one intentionally means each decision to unduly influence the outcome of matches).

Once or twice is a mistake.

Five times is incompetence.

Twenty times is corruption.

This needs a legitimate investigation for match fixing. We shouldn’t just move on to the next match, waiting for them to do this again.

Right, so what good is saying we got it wrong and mistakes were made ? SORRY ? you should not be making mistakes with VAR because you sold it to football clubs and fans that it will clear up the (clear and obvious error) that could lead to relegation or winning the title or places for Europe,

we are not just talking about BIG money here, managers, players, owners' futures are on the line here,
then you have the fan's emotions, it's not a game of FIFA football you can just start again,

SO PGMOL how are you going to clear this mess up ? Give Brighton a couple of soft calls in the next game, sorry you can not do that, change the result, again you are not going to do that, replay the game again you're not going to do that,

I know just come out and say sorry and everything will be ok,
Funny how it's never in games that you have to answer to United or Liverpool, I Wonder why

PGMOL is Bent to the core and we know who controls them

After months and months of debating fairly and rationally , constantly stating the pros AND cons , pointing out where it needs massive improvement and ways to improve VAR but standing by that I would rather VAR in place in the game than without it

It was clear the only opinion your allowed on here is ‘It’s all corrupt , football is finished ‘

So I bowed out this thread much to delight of many posters including yourself - and it’s amusing you all tag me whenever there’s controversy, so basically hounded out for debating fairly yet you lot want my opinions when it suits

For what it’s worth - there’s no defending the decisions yesterday against Brighton, utter shambles

I think they’re going to have to ban the linesman.

For this to happen the week Mitrovic gets banned and for nothing to happen to the official would really, really piss off the players. PFA is a shit Union but even they would manage something.

He literally elbows him, and it’s pretty much unprovoked.

Very likely. I wonder if there is a better (closer) angle of the incident, though, as it looks as like there is a possibility Robertson grabbed the linesman’s arm. Could have jerked toward his own face. Or it could just be that the linesman shot out his elbow when he was grabbed, which he still shouldn’t do.

Hard to say off that video, to be honest.

This angle is mad (this might be the one you posted, it’s been taken down already)

Oh, no, that’s the closer view I was looking for (the one I posted was from the tactical camera, so pretty far away).

Based on that the linesman has to be suspended.

I would be surprised if he ever officiates a PL game again.

That said, I would be very interested to hear what Robertson was saying to him to see if he needs to be charged for abusing an official, as well.

Haha this referee don’t like scousers

VAR was introduced so that PGMOL should never have to apologise. How can these so called professionals get things so wrong consistently?

The clear and obvious ruling is a cloak to hide behind and provides the officiating with a huge margin of error to influence the result in games.

The Spurs Brighton game where the two handball goals were disallowed, one was an on field decision and one was an overturn by VAR, which of the decisions was a clear and obvious error because if one of them was then the other one couldn’t be, because neither was clear and obvious.

The penalty decisions however was clear and obvious, every pundit and every football supporter watching and I am probably including Spurs supporters in this could see that they were clear penalties.

What possible reason could Kavanagh come up with to justify his decision to not tell Atwell to award a penalty in either case or to even look at the monitor when the whole footballing world can see that both were definite penalties.

An apology does not go any way to recompense Brighton and the only way to sort this out is to give VAR operators a fine and a 3 match ban with no pay and then they might start making correct decisions.

Hit the fuckers where it hurts, in their pockets!
