Ref Watch

After months and months of debating fairly and rationally , constantly stating the pros AND cons , pointing out where it needs massive improvement and ways to improve VAR but standing by that I would rather VAR in place in the game than without it

It was clear the only opinion your allowed on here is ‘It’s all corrupt , football is finished ‘

So I bowed out this thread much to delight of many posters including yourself - and it’s amusing you all tag me whenever there’s controversy, so basically hounded out for debating fairly yet you lot want my opinions when it suits

For what it’s worth - there’s no defending the decisions yesterday against Brighton, utter shambles
Keep posting pal.

If the first Brighton "goal" was handball, how come Rodri's "handball" at Everton last season wasn't handball?
I may have lost count but between those 2 events the handball rule had changed about 2579 times... Honestly that and offside. I just don't know what the rules are anymore and I don't think the players managers out refs know either.

The calls of corruption and cheating will always be raised while the people behind these type of decisions can hide behind the obfuscation of it being "a clear and obvious error". VAR needs more transparency and officials need to be more accountable for decisions like those from yesterday. If Webb has to apologise for one of these muppets more than once then said muppet should be relieved of his duties forthwith. The Premier League should also be implementing the semi-automated offside technology that was used in the World Cup. Speeds up offside calls immensely. No waiting for 3 minutes to decide he was 2 yards onside like in our game yesterday.

More transparency? There isn’t any to begin with!

VAR,It’s not fit for purpose and as genuine football supporters know, the game IS bent, take the gifts the refs regularly received at the swamp in their changing room! There is no such thing as impartiality nor will anything ever change. We had a genuine handball yesterday against Southampton not even looked at, and those decisions against Brighton are just criminal in my opinion! Seriously, who the fuck really wants it or needs VAR?

Something very wrong about that Tottenham game yesterday.

I think it's time for the whole Referee situation in the PL to be overhauled. We have the richest football league in the world and it's reffed by a bunch of incompetants headed up by another completely out of his depth. The PL need to revisit the whole set up. Make the process more open like rugby, but more importantly, the PL should recruit the best refs from wherever, all over the world. Looking at the last 2 WCs it's clear that British refs arnt good enough with hardly any chosen. So why should we have to put up with them in our league. Get the best and fire the likes of Atwell who clearly isn't up to the job.
