Ref Watch

Kavanaugh is a dipper.

He shouldn't be anywhere near our games at this part of the season.

I bet if you went on RAWK when he was appointed for our home game with the dippers they'd be kicking off about a manc officiating a game of theirs!

Need to get over this. Liverpool are done in the title race, he can save his corruption against us for one that matters. I'm sure Spurs fans are questioning why someone from our part of the world is officiating one of our games as well!

With all the teams quoted being the top teams, and the large number of games, the chances of freak results is minimal.

I’m not going to go into an in-depth study of his findings because he’s clearly made his mind up that it’s all bent, so there’s no point trying to convince him otherwise.

But just taking the very first stat he quotes.

Pep has 72% win rate V all opponents but 55% with Taylor reffing.

It’s pretty obvious we’re going to win a higher % of games against all opponents, compared to the top 5 or 6, which are the games Taylor mainly does.

True, the stats should show how all the top teams win rate drops when Taylor refs them, and then we can judge, but it does to an extent, in the % drop when applied to the others normal win rates which is easy to find.

3 decisions reviewed by the "Key Match Incident Panel", whoever the fuck they are, one of which was our first pen against Wolves. Of course, the BBC headline is another negative towards us, but that goes without saying.

But each of the 3 decisions discussed by the 5 man panel were split 3-2, so they have proved absolutely nothing, other than it could have gone one way or another. What a waste of time and effort!

I’ve read this three times and am still not sure if I’m losing my marbles or it makes no sense whatsoever?

So three of them said the referee made the correct decision. But all five agreed the VAR should have intervened and recommended he changed his decision?

I’ve long been an advocate for giving a stop clock at least a trial run somewhere and seeing how it goes.

It’s not happening anytime soon though. It was very briefly discussed and emphatically rejected at the IFAB annual meeting last summer.

I’ve read articles dismissing the idea and considered the reasons why. And most of them are easily surmountable.

The one reservation I do have though is the effect on the game at amateur level. Which is after all where 99% + of all football matches take place.
I’m sure var has stop watch embedded somewhere inside their computer .

No mention of the non penalty on Ake but of course we are the headline And the 5-0 vote saying Var should have got involved with Arsenals penalty dive just mentioned as the last bit

The don't have VAR, even more don't have a fourth official and how many don't even have proper linesmen?
