Ref Watch

I certaintly don't believe for a minute, that most PL referee's don't secretely support one of the big PL clubs, although they might try to hide it and claim to support minnows like Altrincham, Stalybridge ,Tranmere, etc so they get more chances to actually referee the club's they support.

I don't think it's a coincidence Anthony Taylor's family are season ticket holders for Utd and they have the highest win % of all the PL club's he has been in charged of.

Regarding Kavanagh independently of the comment above, another poster, @citytill1die84 also says@ #814: "My mate plays cricket with him says he's a dipper"

Kavanagh has reffed 18 matches for Liverpool with a win percentage significantly higher than their normal win %. The win % for Spurs is also almost 20% higher with him than you expect. City's win % however is significantly below what you would expect compared to other referee's.

.

Without being rude mate, you seem happy to believe any old bullshit you read on this forum as true, if it backs up your beliefs.

This nonsense about Taylor’s family being United season ticket holders a classic example.

Nobody can probably remember who originally made it up, but it’s been repeated so many times now, it’s become fact to many.

You are entitled to your views. If you believe nonsense that because Taylor supports Altrincham he cannot support Utd, or because Kavanagh supports Stalybridge he can't also support Liverpool, so be it.

PL referee's are on huge salaries and will try hard to keep hidden support of top PL clubs which may effect the matches they get.

What can't be hidden is the results from the games referee's control. Although City have dominated the PL for over a decade, both referee's have our win % significantly below other referee's whilst our rivals are the reverse.

It's quite incredible that Taylor has Manchester United with the highest win % of all PL teams he has controlled when you consider their league position and performances over that time.

With Kavanagh both Liverpool and Spurs have win %'s in their 70's, while those teams have been firmly in the 50's over the time he's been around.

It's highly suspicious that in our 2 key away games before a potential historic 4th league win, the Pigmol/PL chooses to appoint the referee's which we have the least favourable win %.

I meant to comment that Hooper was exceedingly lenient to Liverpool in their clash with Villa last night. Mac Allister alone could (and probably should) have had two yellow cards, but finished the match with none.

Which is interesting, given he currently sits second in the league for most yellows issued (behind Taylor, both also having officiated the most matches, but with a fairly highly card per match rate, even so) and was quite card happy when he officiated our match against Spurs earlier in the season, before also being quite lenient to Forest in our 0-2 win.

It will be interesting to see if he (or Taylor) are given either our or Arsenal’s match on Sunday.

My waters say it's going to be Tierney.

Interestingly, Tierney has the third lowest cards per game rate of any PL referee, and by far the lowest among those that have officiated more than 15 matches (which could be reasonably considered the “top referees” group).

Also worth nothing that we haven’t lost a league match Tierney has officiated since Newcastle beat us 2-1 in January 2019.

Are they not then?

Was that the one where he booked KdB for taking a free kick?

Mate I’ve had this conversation with at least three different people and asked them which specific family members they are talking about? I mean, if you ‘know’ then you ‘know’ who exactly you’re talking about surely?

The normal response is ‘all of them’ or something equally vague.
