Atwell is a great referee. Or possibly umpire. It's just that he knows fuck all about football.Atwell has been booked to play a part in a Christmas Panto'. Blind Pugh in Treasure Island, he'd be a natural!

Same with Peter Walton on bt, they may as well say, let's go over to Peter whilst he agrees with the referee's decision.Has Gallagher ever disagreed with the decision the ref made at the time?
If Peter Walton says Harald Schumaker should have been sent off I'd start to have doubts.Same with Peter Walton on bt, they may as well say, let's go over to Peter whilst he agrees with the referee's decision.
But do you remember a few weeks ago when we had a goal disallowed( Torres) because a Norwich player tripped himself up after a minimal touch from BernadoWatched ref watch on sky and after several replays showing that Milner had tripped Foden, Gallagher said that Foden had tripped himself up. Now that is totally against what was shown to have happened and he was still in denial.
Now to be fair to Peter (bear with me here) he does often offer the correct decision at the time. He'll say something like "definite contact there - clear penalty", but then once VAR has 'looked at it' and said no penalty the shithouse will do a 180. He'll come up with some bullshit excuse like "Well, having seen it again there was contact but not enough in it to give a penalty. He went down too easily for me".Same with Peter Walton on bt, they may as well say, let's go over to Peter whilst he agrees with the referee's decision.
I wasn’t aware there was an official explanation - have you got a link? I’d love to see how they explain it wasn’t a foul because it looked clear as day to me.The official explanation on the Milner trip was that VAR deemed that no foul had been committed, so no intervention was necessary.
Official story would probably be a better way of putting it because often it bears no resemblance to the incident we all saw play out in front of our own eyes.I wasn’t aware there was an official explanation - have you got a link? It's also bullshit as even a quick scan of the available images shows that Milner made contact from behind causing Phil to trip. That is a foul in the modern game you can bet would have been given in the unlikely event that Phil had been chasing Milner down and caught him on the leg causing him to go sprawling.Stuart Brennan claimed that was the official excuse from the league/Trafford Mike
But this dick wasnt spilling the beans and yet he still refused to say the ref got it wrong. He would rather make himself look stupid than admit a mate fucked up. !From 2016 but would suggest rules remain the same around spilling the beans. Why are Premier League referees silenced – even into their retirement?
Referees in Australia, Germany and the US are allowed to explain their decisions to fans so why are Premier League officials banned from talking to the media?www.theguardian.com
