I still don’t think that was a red. He was too far out and it wasn’t an obvious goal scoring position from there IMO. He couldn’t wait to lift that red card out knowing full well VAR wouldn’t overrule it. He should have given a yellow and then let VAR do it’s job if it was a blatant. No way that would have been given at Anfield or Old Trafford . We didn’t deserve anything yesterday but that ref was a complete c**k from the first whistle. I was screaming at him to have a word with the keeper from 10 mins in, I said to the lads around me he’ll book him at 85 mins when it’s too late

Agree with everything you've stated here, if I might amplify a couple of points..

First, I looked at the screen clock on 6 consecutive occasions in the first half when Palace wasted time. The quickest they got the game going was was 24 seconds, with three occasions being well over 30 seconds. I estimated that we were short changed throughout the whole game by around 12 minutes with the goalkeeper's antics alone, never mind the time wasted over throw-ins and feigned injuries. That's US, the paying public, who were robbed yesterday. And until useless f*ckers like Marriner start doing something about it EARLY in a game, it will continue to spoil games and make people think 'What's the point?'

Second, this instruction to linesmen not to flag offsides immediately etc is going to bite the football decision makers on the backside one day. Had Ederson charged out and made contact with the Palace player, there may have been injury to both. One day a player or even two will get injured badly because play wasn't stopped. Then, of course, the useless twunts running the game will quietly go back to the old way of doing things.

Shame we had an off day yesterday and met up with a Palace side in good form and intent on sucking the entertainment out of the game. Onwards and upwards!

Rant over! That's my quota done for the day.. the medics only allow me 2 per day nowadays..

I would have thought the PL would not like blatant time-wasting ruining the 'product' around the world

I do think that certain organisations largely in the Far East might have been very happy with the result no matter what happens in playing time.

After watching the Leicester match how is evens yellow card but laporte red. British refs are shocking not one at euros and most likely not one at the World Cup. Since they went so-called professional I've not seen any improvements

From the original footage I thought he was just onside as he was running at goal but from the replay it showed he was just off. However, when you looked at the ball being kicked it also looked like the ball had clearly left his foot rather than being kicked.

The choice of frame has a huge impact when a player his running at full tilt and all I can say is that they may have been deciding which frame was ‘chosen’.

VAR almost always backs up the decisions made by the on field ref, the real issue is that the default setting for most refs when making decisions that look "debatable" in our games almost always end with a negative conclusion for us...

...NOT A PENALTY FOR US
...DEFINITE PENALTY AGAINST US
...OFFSIDE AGAINST US
...RED CARD FOR US
...etc...etc...etc
(all decided really quickly and delivered with a flourish)

which VAR then agrees with.

The premier league and PGMOL know we are the team to beat and have been for over a decade .it isnt good for the "brand" for lickle Citeh who cant fill their ground to be the Champions year in, year out , its plain as day that we have been treated with disdain and the media also have financial interests , they have billion Rags & Dippers chomping at the bit to read something negative about our club , and if it isnt true they just make something up anyway.
Unrivalled success does have its downside , jealousy , hate and envy from all and sundry , but we will always have the last laugh and our trophy cabinet cofirms this , the bitterness our opponents have is eating them up and making their lives unbearable and long may it continue.

If the play continued and Laporte had not dragged him down Diaz could have got over to him. In the Leicester Arsenal game the distance to goal was stated to why it was a yellow, why was that not considered here?

I don't have a specific problem with the decision If he's off he's off However, bearing in mind, the lino saw nothing, Palace didn't complain, the ball is back on the centre spot to re-start, VAR then take the best part of 3 mins to rule it out If it takes 3 minutes of forensic examination to rule out a City goal (as opposed to 10 seconds to allow a "red" goal), i'm sorry, i do now have a problem, if it takes that long, (and is that marginal) it should be ONSIDE!

Phil is more onside than the VAR chose to overlook in the build up to Brighton's goal last weekend.

Until these cunts and the referee are on the mic and everyone can listen to what is being discussed, like rugby, then there is a convenient lack of accountability that suits just fine.

There was another moment in the first half when Cancelo was about to pull the trigger on the edge of the box and that wanker Marriner stood in his way to prevent the shot.

The LotG are fast becoming a joke, whether we win 5-0 or lose 2-0, they are still a joke! A player takes a foul throw and the throw is immediately awarded to the other side. I think that if a goalkeeper keeps the full backs ready to play out and then waves them away to go upfield, having deliberately taken a chunk of playing time out, the goal kick should be changed and awarded to the attacking side immediately as a corner! And we should revert to the goal kick being taken on the side it went out. And, furthemore, teams should have no more than 10 seconds putting the ball into play. None of this will happen and it will drive long-term fans away from the game as we drift to a game that comprises playing time of anywhere between 35-40 mins and unequal 'halves'!
