It's the same as when they used to say "there was contact, he's got every right to go down, it's a penalty" which was also bullshit and never in the rules, but after they peddled their biased bollocks reasoning, EVERYBODY repeated it ad infinitum.

After watching bad sport ep3 on Netflix recently I can believe that it is corrupt to the core. But who is pulling the strings? Another club, the league or the bookies?

It doesn't.And people are saying that's not a penalty because he got a touch on the ball! Where in the laws does it say you're allowed to kick a player as long as you get the slightest of touches on the ball?
It was a careless attempt at a tackle which resulted in contact with an opponent, which should be penalised with the award of a direct free kick/penalty (penalty in this case)
