I believe we have the Joys of Michael Oliver tomorrow!
West ham defence could spit roast Bernie in the penalty area and he'd give them an indirect free kick for obstruction.I believe we have the Joys of Michael Oliver tomorrow!
What about the foul on Cancelo that was more a blatant yellow card than the one Cancelo got booked for?another penalty not given, but the stats are pretty even the bog standard decisions were evenly dished out, just the usual big call we don't get.
I wasn't watching closely, so the pen was the only thing I noticed. What about the foul on Cancelo that was more a blatant yellow card than the one Cancelo got booked for?
They are experienced, experienced in doing what they are told to do.Anyway, stats for fairness:
1st half:
City - 14 attempted tackles, 3 fouls, 4.67.
WHU - 7 attempted tackles, 2 fouls, 3.5.
70 minutes:
City - 21 attempted tackles, 4 fouls, 5.25.
WHU - 17 attempted tackles, 3 fouls, 5.67.
Full-time:
City - 34 attempted tackles, 7 fouls, 4.85.
WHU - 28 attempted tackles, 6 fouls, 4.67.
Very even-handed statistically, although more lenient on West Ham second-half but they made more of an effort tackling wise so 2 out of 7 isn't really significant. It's more those big calls today with WallyVAR.
Also shows that in 2 largely similar games in terms of having 1 dominant team (Rags and West Ham), just how wildly different the same ref refereed each game. At this level, the least you'd expect is the referee to be experienced enough to be consistent and disciplined and average similar amounts, yet there's gulf here.
